When I was a kid I dealt with the problem like a man.

Step 1: Buy a super soaker
Step 2: Fill it with water
Step 3: Spray the shit out of the beehive
Step 4: Run or die motherfucker!

Dont burn it if you got trees around. I almost set my neighborhood on fire by burning a bee hive with a little gasoline. That shit went up in high flames and the flames were so high they went up a large pine tree. I almost shit my pants on the spot.

I can see the city charging you with arson which would really multiply your problems.

I have a bit of experience in this area last summer.

First pray to vinshu. Next you should call a local beekeeper. Beekeepers been had bees. If they aren't honey bees and the beekeeper won't get them for you then you'll want to get some bottle rockets. Fire a few warning shots across their swarm. Let them know you mean business. While they decide whether or not to stay their ground or retreat go to Home Depot and get some of those long range wasp arisol spray cans. If they are still there when you get back spray the crap out of them with the wasp spray, spray the rest of the nest with the hose, and run over the dead and dieing with your mower. Watch where the escapees retreat to. They'll run back to their main hive. Which is usually close by. Follow them dressed in black and yellow so they don't suspect and rig the cap of one of the wasp sprays to work like a sprinkler (poke more holes in it). Toss that bitch in there like a grenade and fire more bottle rockets at it. Burn rinse repeat.

Whatever you do DON'T use a RC Helicopter as a weapon. They will seize control over it and use it against you. When it comes to aerial assaults bees are more experienced then you. Don't play on their turf.

lol you guys crack me up... I'm sure you've rectified this situation by now, but if not lacquer in a spray gun with a long piece of 1/2" pvc kills from the inside out. You slide the pvc gently into the hive and basically perform a "fogging" before the bees get agitated. Granted this a lot more difficult to do for an elevated nest, but it works amazing.
