Yeah, Windows releases are just like Star Trek movies: Skip every other one.
This one is SO freaking different though; people will be more resistant to it than ever...
It may well be a better Operating system than any in history; but it's not intuitive to windows users, so they've really screwed the pooch this time.

Best case would be if they allow you to switch between a "classic desktop" and the new desktop. I'm thinking they did something similar in early versions of windows with the file manager vs windows explorer.
RIP Microsoft consumer PC products. The only exceptions would be Office (which is split consumer/business product) and XBox.

Windows 8 looks like it is based on the design of Windows Phone... which is fucking awesome in my opinion. With this on a tablet, it is going to blow the iPad out of the water!
By the way, I bought a Macbook Pro a couple of weeks ago, OSX has completely frozen on me twice (the pretty version of a blue screen that told me to hold the power button to turn it off), and Garageband has crashed to desktop 4 times. All that talk of how stable it is, is an absolute load of shit.

Hey look, one person's experiences vs loads of statistics and reports to the contrary about OSX.
And if you think Windows Phone is on the ball...lol. It might be better than android, but that's not saying much, because Android feels like a psychology grad student's project that never got finished.
I've always wondered that myself. Do they have two separate development teams that work on alternate versions, or something? One team kicks ass, and the other is just a bunch of college drop-outs, or what?
It looks like every time they release something that has a new interface concept, they screw it up on the first try and only get it right with the second. So they use their customers as paying beta testers. That can't be good for something as different as this looks like it'll be.
Waiting for what? See that link in OP. It has a video in the page that tells more than I ever could. The product is no where near complete so I have no idea how the product will turn out.
