A British woman who went to a Thai nature resort to conquer her fear of monkeys has been savaged by a pack of macaques.

Dee Darwell, 56, lost consciousness after the monkeys surrounded her and sank their teeth into her arms and body.

I visited the Sydney reserve zoo (located in Dubbo) in 2001 where they kept all the monkey and orangutans and chimps and basically all the primate on islands in the middle of man-made ponds out in the middle of frick'ing nowhere.

Why? Because basically a lot of the primates are savage little bastards, 'causing the majority of fatalities among zookeepers worldwide. Somebody feel free to fact-check on this, but I still remember that factoid ten years later.

Don't get too close to orangutans, because they will literally rip your head off (sneak up behind you and bite into your neck)
