Thoughs on cancer kid?

I try to avoid watching the news but my gym always has Fox and CNN on, so today's the first I've heard about that 13 year old kid who ran away from chemo (and more importantly, his reasons).

If he were older and wanted to pursue "natural, holistic" cancer treatments, I'd say fuck him and his stupidity. The problem here is that his parents are retards and he trusts them, so he's running from effective treatment.

I'm in no way in favor of the government forcing chemo into the veins of an unwilling child, but the question is whether or not he'd still be unwilling if his parents hadn't force-fed him their alternative medicine bullshit?

At 13 years old, I doubt the kid knows enough to believe the rest of the world when they tell him he's going to die without treatment. At that age, you still think your parents know everything.

Kids get taken from parents for a lot less. If his parents were meth addicts, the state would take the kid because he would be in danger. I'd say in this case the stupidity of his parents is a lot more dangerous to him than if they were meth addicts.

WTF is wrong with you people? Hodgkin’s lymphoma has a 90% cure rate in children if treated with chemotherapy. Without it, he has a 5% chance of living.
