Time = Money

I look at it a little differnt.

apprenticeship = some one taking a trade (building work and so forth)
interns are for people with a degree and dont have the rights as a full time worker.
volunteer are people who dont have a degree and try and get on the job ladder but have better rights then someone doing a intern.
charity work is for anyone who helps out a charity

What the FUCK, are you making up your own language? Are you teh Sovereign of your own Nation or something? No?

Then Use The Same Fucking Dictionary The Rest Of Us Do.

Jesus, where's my fuckin stick...

lol wtf? so many people that work at a 9-5 would LOVE to work from home. why the hell would we get a 9-5? XD

Wow this turned into a crazy interesting discussion!

Just to clarify a thing or two. This wasn't anything particularly major, at least not for me, cuz I'm not all that attached to the girl. Its just that after being away from the hourly sort for a few years it was just an interesting thought. I mean I'd never honestly consider going back to being bossed around, and possibly being fired for having a brain.

I mean shit do I even need to ask? "Would you rather call your own shots or have someone else order you around?" That's a fuckin no brainer...

Tell that weak-minded, brainwashed trollop to get bent.

I guess you shouldn't be too harsh...90% of people think the way she does.

Yeah, ChrisS, dude it's so frustrating how 9/10 people you speak with don't understand anything about what you do or they think you're a hacker :D

Just remember this one thing: the secret to life is getting pussy-whipped and letting them tell you what to do.

You should analyze the time:money ratio that your work produces.

A working stiff at a 9-5 has a ratio something like 10:8. That is 10 hours dedicated to work but only getting paid for 8 hours.

When their hours stop their pay stops.

In IM you can have crazy ratios in the opposite direction. For example you can do 2 hours of work and get paid the equivalent of 100 hours of work.

LOL at even considering going to a 9-5 if you're making any scratch at all in IM.

This. ^

It sounds like she is annoyed that you work while she's around and wants you to work while she's working.

Honestly, given that every salaried person tends to get work-related calls on their days off, when the boss thinks of stuff and wants you to be looking at it over night for tomorrow, etc., she needs a little perspective.

Just manage your time to do most of your stuff while she's busy, spend a little more time with her, and write down stuff you think about if she is around and do it later. If that doesn't do it for her, then consider renting some office space.

If she's still upset or doesn't want to work with you on a win-win to satisfy both of your needs, dump her.

This wise counsel shalt be re-hummed along with the wind..

Start your own company, become the CEO and show up to your office from 9-5 like everyone else.

Productivity increased.

You're not being bossed around.

You get to keep the bitch.

Problem solved.

Working at home can be very lonely, unless you have a wife/friends that also do what you do.
