FYI - it could have been anything from some unpatched software, or something on his hosting setup he wasn't careful about securing. Who knows. If someone (Jon?) has direct contact with him, refer him to www.totalserversolutions.com for some help with this.

i use avast av (have been for years), it told me as soon as the redirect was happening about the trojan.

i would highly recommend it, it's also free for the home version @
