As long as it stays on media related items, and not generic searches I think it'd be a good idea. Get some insight into what people think.

Yep, that's going to be a big problem for them.

I think if this goes through, it's going to force a few things to happen:

1) Quality scores for individual tweets - Things like number of retweets could be used here

2) Quality scores for Twitter accounts - Things like (# following- # friends), percentages of tweets coming from a particular source (API, Tweetdeck, web), percentages of that users tweets that have links as opposed to personal updates etc.

Could be totally off here, just early guesses. But if this makes its way to blended search they are definitely going to clean it up. Especially Google.

It's going to be interesting to see how they handle it.
