UFC 151 Cancelled + Jon Jones didn't accept a fight

I blame Jackon's shit camp. Look what he did to GSP. Remember when GSP was fun to watch and finished fights? Now he's just a boring as fuck points fighter. They even fucked up Clay Guida for his last fight. I've NEVER even remotely seen a boring fight from that guy, did you see his last fight? What the fuck was that shit.
Throwing him under the bus, really? Come on... He gave him a treat.
Dana finds out 8 days before the fight that Hendo is injured and he now doesn't have a title shot challenger. This is 8 days before the event. All UFC money is spent and all the other fighters have spent all their money to train for this point (especially ones low on the totem pole and still broke as fuck). By this time they have probably paid for their hotels and might already be in Vegas.
Dana is simply asking Jones to come through for him and accept this fight because if he doesn't, the UFC and a bunch of people take a huge hit.
And think about who Dana asked, Sonnen? He just got done challenging for the title, you know he has been taking time off since then and is not near top shape. Plus this is up a weightclass for him and there is obviously no time for him to bulk up. 8 days is long enough to do nothing, just prepare mentally. Yet, he still accepts. Jones on the other hand has at least trained for a title fight and is in top shape.
Dana gave Jones an easy fight that would allow him to quickly stop the shit Sonnen was starting to give him. It would have painted Jones as a hero and a good play for the fans.
This is fighting, mentality of the sport and the fans here is different. When you get a fight, you take it. You don't pussy foot around, thinking about your contracts and wondering if this is the best move for your "career". Jones is going to continue to get reemed for this. Not only by fans, but now by fellow fighters as well.

The unified rules need a do-over. It's too wrestling centric and control heavy.
Imo. regard the guard as neutral like in BJJ. Get rid of elbows on the ground which is the lay and pray artists only weapon and doesn't actually hurt the opponent that much except causing lots of blood and bruising which end fights prematurely. Allow knees to the head of an opponent on the ground (except for north-south position and temple shots). But most importantly, it should be allowed to kick and knee a shooting wrestler in the face after a missed shoot.
These rule changes would make the ground much more dangerous and would also make wrestlers think twice before shooting for single or double which is basically risk free atm.
"Fighters aren't business people" yet when the need to replace a fight for business reasons Dana's blaming a fighter over the UFC incompetence.

Did Jones have not much to gain and a lot to lose? Yes. But this is MMA, and fans expect fighters to have a "Bring on whoever, I'll rip their fucking head off" mentality.

I feel sorry for the under card guys. Who needed this paycheck and just dedicated months of work into this thing. UFC will survive, but some mma fighters needed this to pay rent and send their kids to school next month.

jon jones has to protect his belt; asking him to take a title fight on a week's notice is retarded. berating him in the cancellation interview makes dana white a fucking punk, and no better than bullshit-artist don king, who'd do anything to make a fight happen. dana white showed he cares less about the integrity of the sport than his bottom line.
Jon Jones is an idiot. He lost so much cred on this while giving Chael the best potential outcome. Chael is an ingenious businessmen. Chael was going up a weight class for his first fight at the new weight. He may not have deserved the instant title fight but that's good news for Jones. Jones should have easily won but the pay per view purchases would have been way higher and he would have taken home a huge bonus.

What does it say about him turning down a fight against a guy who is lighter, shorter and with a distinct reach disadvantage, and can't even win the belt in his own division? Jon Jones has shown an incredible lack of foresight with this decision, and if you can't see this you are at a point further removed from the moron state that I assumed you were at. Jones has hurt his popularity among fight fans which may negatively impact on any future cards that he is a main draw on - hell, he may have just substantially shortened his endorsement with Nike. Not only that, he hurt those on the under card that needed the money from this particular show, which will simply build ill will among them and other fighters towards Jones.
