To tell the truth, I only started to get into watching MMA a few years ago when I was living in Japan. Pride is very entertaining and the Japanese love it. A ticket for crap seats was like $400
Once, I get my finances stable I am moving to Tokyo (June 2008, hopefully). I am trying to fight in amateur Shooto and make my way up. At the momment, Judo,Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Muay Thai are the martial arts I'm taking. Private lessons cost about $100/hr and it's killing my budget, lol

I hang out with some professional and amateur fighters. They usually negotiate with the gyms they workout in. Exchange lessons to beginners, intermediates for free gym access and training with the serious fighters.

damn, i hate freak fights like that

I remember in the early days of UFC when the match ups didn't have weight classes. One of the coolest matches was Keith Kackney (I think it was him) vs. some huge Sumo looking dude, Keith took him out with an open hand slap to the side of the head. Keith broke his HAND that match but... was awesome to watch! :)
