I used to watch hockey everyday religiously when I was growing up. Also used to play. Now a days with everything going to shit around us I've started to see the bigger picture about how we are being subconsciously indoctrinated into sheep that are only concerned with their favorite team winning and not the predator drones spying on us, going to fight fake psuedo wars, paying taxes on everything right down to the air you breath, being a slave in a society designed to keep you from getting ahead - I have little time or patience for sports. I do watch olympics and occasionally the playoffs if my hometown team is doing well...
I pretty much feel the same way myself. Used to be a sports nut back in the day. Football, b-ball, baseball, etc. But now, I see the whole picture and it makes me sick when I see the beer-guzzling douche bags in the bar. They have no sense of culture outside sports. I feel like I can't even relate to these people, nor do I want to. Thing is, most guys are like this so it can really make you feel like you aren't part of the tribe. I feel like I should be living in another country where there is more culture other than sports; where I can have a conversation with a person at a bar about a book I read or an idea and they wouldn't look at me like I'm a nut.
What's really sickening is when I see girls get into a ballgame as much as the guys. Do they really care this much? It's like a man getting all excited about going shopping or something. It just doesn't look right.
At any rate, there's nothing wrong with sports per se but the fact that it's consumed our society makes me look at it different now. I still watch pro football but I can see how the global elite use it to box people in, to keep them busy and distracted so they won't notice what's going on around them.
