Just fucking watch it! Probably one of the best movies I've seen in a long time (acting, plot, everything).

I must warn you, the jaybob download I pulled starts skipping in the last minute and watching the credits (which you WILL do) gets damn annoying.

very brutal but good movie. good ending too. not the typical "all ends good and well. everybody's happy" aka. happy ending movie.

Thanks for the review - saw it on the torrents but was kinda "meh" about the description. Will snag it now if it's that good. (not much out there these days to grab, especially TV-wise)

Best movie I've seen this year besides Kick Ass. Makes you wonder just how far they have to take it behind the scenes in order to keep America safe.

Just watched the trailer it looks pretty good. Always been a fan of samuel l jackson ever since pulp fiction

Watched this today. Decent flick

***Spoiler***

I know the wife took off with the kids, basically leaving the husband, but if he really did "plan it all out" as they keep saying throughout the film, wouldn't he have considered the fact that they would implicate his family, and especially since that was his only weak point? Seems a bit misplaced/not well thought out for me...

I'm sure he was awarded extra virgins for sacrificing them too.

Seriously though, religious folk are taught God comes before family. If you have to make a choice between a divine mission and you're family ... you're supposed to pick the mission. That doesn't mean that you don't care about your kids, it was probably a necessary sacrifice in his mind.

On a lighter note, I dl'd The Book of Eli at the same time, about to go watch it ... I'm hoping it's better than bluehatseo (although I doubt it).

I get what you mean about the mission first, however if he were so smart as to have it all "planned out", it would have been an obvious call to also somehow secure his family, so they wouldn't have that pressure point against him. That would also mean all 4 bombs woulda gone off, which was his main mission.

Watched Book of Eli as well, and that's decent too. Loved the cinematography, really gave it that special vibe

On the other hand the fact three were disarmed would mean the US had prior knowledge of the bombs before 1 (of the three far as they would be aware of) went off. And as such of knowing of the bombs prior, would mean they had to have some kind of source which eventually would have to come out in a congressional hearing in which case transcripts of his torture might eventually get out. But It'd mean more if none of the bombs went off because at that point a nuked city would cause a lot of people to think 'why didn't you do more to find them all sooner?'

I'm new to ripping movies off the net - help me out here. The only torrents I can find are like 592x320 resolution. Is that what you guys are downloading and watching?? I assume that would look like crap on a TV wouldn't it?

Depends on a Tv, but most TVs have lower resolution than your LCD monitors, for example 720p HD is roughly same as a 1280x800 LCD screen coverage, but a standard television is bout 520 lines, and a DVD ripped to exactly 720x480.

Also I view most of my downloads on my laptop, and when I do hook my laptop up to my 32" HDTV via the HDMI cable most movies that are "DVD Rips" like I got of unthinkable, show up just fine on the TV, like I were playing the DVD. Though its even better if you got least the 720p rip.

Well that was tough to read. Good info though.

Where are you guys downloading it from?

Google "unthinkable jaybob" and you'll find it. The 592x320 isn't the best I guess but it looks fine. I gave up looking for a higher resolution rip after a few minutes. I'm a noob at this stuff and don't know the best places to look...

Thanks man. I'd give you some rep if I had some.

That's the one I dloaded, and just finished watching it now (credits rolling in the background as I type).

Watched it on a 55" TV my laptop is connected to, and it was definitely watchable. Stereo and almost DVD quality.

Good flick - but wish they'd thrown in some special FX at the very very end - or at least a series of photos like the end of "The Hangover". :)

Well the 592x320 copy which I think most everyone has is the DVD-Screener, basically DVD quality but shrunk to a lower resolution than typical of a DVDrip.

It was fine for me, I only had 4.7GB DVDs laying around so I couldn't burn it at high quality anyway. Intense movie. Wonder why it didn't make the theaters. Is it just too politically incorrect? Seems weird they would use a high paid actor like Samuel Jackson and then go straight to DVD...

Thanks to the OP for posting ... we were looking for a movie to watch tonight.
