US Government Spends $634 MILLION DOLLARS on Healthcare.gov Website

These amounts are still chump change compared to what Republicans pissed away on two pointless wars (among many others).

Really man, you would rather bend over and take it in the ass just to save a few bucks?

There's no way that the first figure (634M) is correct.

6M and 9M for government websites is still absurd, but possible.

That is a lot of spam gone wild packages holy fuck.

And the site ranks 2nd for U.S. healthcare. Maybe some 2.0s with 2nd tier secret sauce will push wiki off the throne..

I will be doing AMA soon to show appreciation for all your sweet tax dollars accumulated in my "super car collection" fund.

When I think about all my parents' rich friends, most of them have made their money from the government.

Isn't that site a WP theme? It looks really familiar.

Nothing usually surprises me with the gov, but this does. Some asshole is driving around in his Ferrari in Canada, laughing at the US right now.

No idea what the CMS is, but its built on bootstrap. Maybe someone sprung for a $40 theme.

Im not even mad, mostly impressed and jealous of that contract

In comparison....

.....

Oh and it has 404 issues too.

Because the govt kept changing the perimeters of the deal. It's not uncommon for the govt to give out less than truthful tender offers. The bidding companies know to bid for just what the govt wants, and if later they add more stuff, it will cost more.

Why do you think weapons systems always goes over budget. The govt officials keep moving the goal post.

Obama-care will not work, but will have some initial goodluck run, before the true cost shows up. Just imagine you mandate everyone should eat fish, the price of fish will skyrocket in due time.

Same with the health care law. We do not have enough nurses and doctors to handle the demand. Because of the law of supply and demand, wages for those professions will rise dramatically in due time.

Personally, I would just pay the fine for the first three years, as it makes more sense and it's cheaper.

On a side note, the main reason why they want govt run health care is the mandate for health chip implants that are in the pipeline. The chips are supposed to regulate your health and makes it easier to diagnose any health issues by simply plugging you into a chip reader machine, just like they do with cars.

But the sinister motives behind the chip, it is the most perfect control mechanism ever invented by the elites. You see this bastards are cunning and they think many years ahead about what they want to turn us into.

I know most are not capable of reading between the lines of the many lies pedaled by politicians from both parties. So remember Obamacare is just a perfect cover for more sinister motives.

So much corruption in our gov. We are all being gamed and by force. Sucks. :boid:

People readily acknowledge that elected officials are corrupt, but continue to vote, hoping the corruption will magically disappear. They have absolutely no understanding of why humans act (incentives, etc.).

Voters remind me of folks who can't seem to tear themselves away from the street corner shell game. They know it's a sham. But they keep playing, convinced they'll win this time. lol

Dummies.

Who said web design wasn't profitable/?

Brb gonna go rank for goverment web design wat.

On another note if someone was to rank for the same keywords as that health.gov site and maybe IDK throw an insurance lander....................

They could have literally hired every web designer and programmer located in India for that much money and had like 50,000 people working on the site at one time. AND it would have looked about 100x better than that.

This is what the daily commute would look like...

I don't vote nor have I ever. However, I make political contributions to those who I think will get elected.

I love how that one dude is like fuck this noise I'll walk instead.

Cost isn't an issue when you're paying with other people's money.

I used to have a contract job with CGI on a State of Florida project in Tallahassee. There was a bunch of us living for months, some over a year, in a Staybridge Suites hotel paid by the company, meals paid, rental cars or mileage paid, plane tickets or mileage home on the weekends paid.

They seemed to have a lot of government money to throw around. It was the only job that I ever had where they didn't seem to care about expenses.
