Vegas Cab Drivers = Affiliate Marketers

It's the same reason why most boobie ballets will send a free limo to pick you up and bring you there.

Ha. Nice bump. In Reno, they do this with the brothels and they actually have referral numbers on the ad unit on top of their car. It was a couple of years ago when this cabbie told us how it worked, but I think he said he got something like 30% of what the customer spent because the drive was 20-30 miles and then he had to sit there and wait for the customer to finish inside. He said that sometimes people will go in there and spend 10 grand in a couple of hours.

I don't really understand the post.
anyone who sells something for another company and gets a commission really IS an affiliated marketer..........thats literally the definition. So yes cab drivers are affiliate marketers for clubs and door to door salesman are affiliate marketers and so are telemarketing companies and those people who sell life insurance happen to be affiliate marketers to. As well as bulk mail companies and magazine subscription salesman, even escort services. What exactly is the point?

The thing I wondered about but didn't care to investigate is what about those people handing out the hooker fliers? Do they all have a unique extension on the number to track who is doing the job and who is dumping them on the street and taking the night off? Or do they just encourage them to rat each other out for not working or something.

Also are they properly split testing the creatives on the fliers with different numbers/extensions for different designs?

I doubt it, there were so many designs (as Shawn proofed with his collection) it would take years to get significant data.

They have a truck or two with a big billboard on it drive in that same loop all day advertising and keeping track of the workers.

i met this one taxi driver who gave me and my friend a tour to all the massage place for free and then later bust out a book of prostitutes, he was the nicest affiliate marketer i ever met.

Leaving the spearmint rhino the cab driver gave me a total rundown on the all the strip clubs in Vegas, he definitely knew his stuff.

He was a pretty seedy guy

The paper ads they could be tracking with different ads or color paper if you dont notice anything that looks like a tracking number.

I have seen this in about every country I have ever been to. It's nothing new and has nothing learned from AM.
