Looked around and couldn't see where else to put this so ...

I am creating a video for a website and I want to do the voice over. Thing is I think my recorded voice sucks so I was wondering if anyone knows of some software that will convert my recorded voice into a different voice. I've tried a couple of packages but they just let you modify the voice. I want to radically change the voice as in -- my voice in, sexy female voice out.

Here's some booby goodness for your trouble:

In all honesty, you are probably going to end up paying more for software, and dealing with a lot more work(or worse a robotic voice-over) than if you were to just simply record it, then head to fiverr or a crowdsourcing site and have someone appropriate re-record it for you.

Yeah I was thinking of outsourcing it but then this limits my flexibility, if I want to make changes etc. Messing around with audio software takes-up a lot of time though. Hmmm ...

I hear you on doing it yourself --- you want to control the process. I have this battle with myself over something nearly every month. Fastest / most efficient way will be to order a few different versions from Fiverr or similar.

I would not even rely on software to try this. Software is getting better all of the time. But you can still tell 100% when a voice is computer generated. We are not there yet.

How come chicks look better in b&w/monochrome? Does it hide their blemishes?

Oh and second Fiverr. As was mentioned, cheap = you can order multiple versions from multiple providers and choose one.

Is it just the tone of your voice that's wrong or the actual presentation?

If your just unhappy about the tone you could always try downloading any popular DAW (REAPER.fm ftw) and try fucking around with some standard effects (compression/EQ/pitch?).

EDIT: My bad, I just saw you want your voice completely changed. Need to learn to read a full post before replying. Same advice applies but isn't gonna be so easy, especially with no prior experience

You can find professional voiceover artists (or people that say they are at least) on fiverr.com, it's too cheap to consider trying to do it yourself.

I tried some voice conversion software but it wasn't so good. Then I bought a much improved microphone with software - I bought Avid Vocal Studio. It definitely improved the depth of my voice and the pro tools software has some cool features for manipulating the sound.

Fuck voice-over and fuck trying to sound like richard attenborough when it's physically impossible. Went for animoto in the end and in a couple of hours had something pretty good.
thanks for all the above tips though.
