I want to learn JAVA and then get certified in Software Testing, do I need to learn (Object Oriented Programming with C++) first to learn JAVA?

or I can go to learn JAVA and Software Testing directly and what are the scope of this field?

If you want to learn Java then learn Java.

C++ is not a gateway language to Java. If anything it will confuse you more because there are different in their OOP approach.

Java is considered a "beginner" language so you can start with that.


Having said that why go for Software Testing if you learn java? Become a developer and make more money.
 
C# and Java have a lot in common. I prefer C#.

Design patterns are concepts that work across languages and will help you write effective code.
 
C and C++ are necessary and base for any programming language. The concepts and the jargons are easy to learn from these two. And what is a major change in Java is just the syntax. As every new programming language you learn you need to get ease with the syntax. Java is very much in demand. And if you know somewhat programming you can head to Java.
