All the American stuff I've used has worked fine.

It's decent... but play the british or russian line and you will realize how under-powered the american line is.

Most american planes only have like 6 guns max and they are the crappy weak variants. Then you hop in something like the hurricane and hurricane mk2 which has 12 guns on it. Not only are they better turning fighters but that firepower just melts everything... Plus you get to mess around with the big fighter planes like beaufighters which have cannons on them which blast anything out of the sky with 1-2 hits.
