You'll look back at this as one of the best days of your life. Judging from this thread you've obviously made some solid connections which I think is a huge part of success.

Feel free to email me or hit me up on AIM anytime man.

Yeah that's gotta suck

And this brings us to another point: "job security" and "loyal service" are not real.

No matter how liked a person is at their job, they will get fired if a boss feels like it.
No matter how loyal you think you've been, you will get fired if a boss feels like it.

Why would a person want to put 100% of their income on shoulders of a "boss"?

Isntead - diversify and apply as much funds as possible into generating passive income systems. Businesses, real estate, websites, etc etc etc.

That way if one area fails, you have 9 other to fall back on.

It's what they call an "illusive obvious" :)

Not that all that isn't good stuff but I do think you have taken a big hit from the Rich Dad, Poor Dad crackpipe. :rasta:

And to SEO_Mike, hang in there, there is always a way to make money (esp if you are into aff marketing!).

Now that you have more time, do not waste it. Dont lurk on forums and other crap all day...

Yeah buddy, I hope the best for you. Just from hanging around here, I see you helping people constantly. Myself included. Karma is a motherfucker homey. Trust me, you'll come out on top.

Good point, funny thing is, I was on WF more when I had a job and was killing time than now. Mostly I've been doing my thing, and networking on AIM.

BTW, I want to apologize to a couple people (you know who you are) that I cut off abruptly the other day on AIM because my kids were screaming. Sorry about that.

Anyhow, I still want to chat, so if you see me on AIM hit me up again.

Working for yourself is awesome! I was out on Friday at 1:30 in the afternoon going somewhere and happened to pass my old work. I started laughing knowing that I wasn't hampered by time. If I wanted to take my sweet ol' time and make it an afternoon, who was going to fire me? NOBODY! Love it!

Plus, I've actually got a lot of work done. :D

Glad to hear you are doing Ok. Keep in mind this is just a few days after it happened. You still have a good pile of work ahead of yourself. Hang in there.

Chris

Someone hasn't seen Office Space apparently.

That is one heavy Hammer, Mod with no Job. heh.

Classic.

Who would've thought in between the boobs and the gay forum threads there is support, caring, and valuable contacts here on WF? (Well, those of us who have been around awhile knew!) Just shows you from this thread that wage earning jobs don't provide the security many people think they do.

It took me awhile to learn to "let today turn out better than planned", it sounds like you learned it! Great attitude, there Mike, hang on to that attitude with both hands so you don't loose it! :)

Still got that pesky main wage earning job, but working from home for my second job is the best, especially when there are kids around. Once there's a skeleton of a routine, there's nothing like going to the park w/the kids on a break. Much better than sitting in a breakroom, trying to get a quick call to them as every tenth of a second I'm on break is recorded and documented.

Interesting, last weekend we had a guy move out of the group home I work at and everyone's hours got cut untill a new resident moves in. Timing was good...income tax refund and writing will fill in. I will have more time to work on some of my projects now!
