Hi!

Do you use a disclaimer or a privacy police on your free trial landingpages (expeciall teeth whitening)? I come from germany, here is the law very strict but I don't know how they handle it in the US..

Please help!

I think you should get that sorted out. I once worked for a German jewelry firm and they had some pretty firm rules about the internet laws there. Get your shit right! Dont fuck up bigtime. Then again, you have just one post. Probably you have already fucked up!

Use one. But don't think that you can make outrageous claims on your lander and then simply throw up a disclaimer and not be liable if someone comes after you. The more apparent and reasonable the disclaimer, the better off you are if someone takes you to court. A judge is going to look more favorably upon a disclaimer that is 12pt and apparent over a disclaimer that is 6pt and hidden. You ultimately have to find a balance between making sales and covering your ass.

In before flame.

My Privacy Policy states that I'm going to sell their information to other marketers who may try to sell them other products, I'll send them occasional e-mails where I may try to sell them other products, and I may mention and recommend products where I may get a commission. I also say that I'll sell their information to call centers who may contact them with offers they may be interested in.

It's very honest.

i have done vigorous split testing and have discovered that a disclaimer hurts conversion rates so i dont use them anymore
