ehh.. all the 1-2 month trips i've taken to europe/canada have been solo. don't have to worry about what someone else wants to do and you can meet people along the way or people you already know online. i try to do one of those a year at least to keep myself sane.

i assume you've friends doing the 9-5 grind, i've loads and they all know where my office is, they just call in after work and i go to lunch with them and we go saucing at the weekend. it's great.
If your friends don't enjoy your company because of the things you own, they were never good friends to begin with. Sure, there might be some jealousy, but do they know you work your ass off to make your $800 a day? Or do they think you're lounging poolside pushing a button and wham, there's the $800?
Friends are the easiest for me to deal with. Family is another story. When family doesnt have $ to pay the bills, and they all know you do, all sorts of complications begin, and it leads to serious issues. Way too many stories here to even begin to tell, but I'm sure others here have experienced something similar.

OP: get a job then if you think it will help with your socializing. Part time work can be one or 2 nights a week. go work in a bar or something... plenty of ppl to talk to there.
Oh, and u've been doing this for 4 months only.. dont expect your income to always be great even if you are earning $800/day now. Next week you might be earning nothing so i wouldnt worry too much about the 'skanks' who only want you for money

I will be honest with you and say that my social life died a few years ago due to me working at home. It is only recently that I have been forcing new life into it. I think the fact that I always feel I should be working more and longer hours meant I just stopped going out. Now, I am forcing myself to go out with friends once a week even if it is just to the pub. I love working from home but it can be lonely and the problem is you don't notice the social life is slipping until it is nearly gone.
