What kind of faggy castrated sack of shit would even ask if a criminal breaking into your house - to steal your items? rape your wife and daughter? who knows - deserves anything less than death. It's not even a question.

You shit all over the rules of society and general human decency? Bye. Don't go whining someone beat you up then.

Canada has a lot of good things going for it, but their British self defense ideas are idiotic. My Canadian friends always find it "curious" that I like the castle doctrine. I find it "curious" they think a grown man's responsibility to protect his family ends at calling 911.

If you have a burgler in your house, and then you appear with a knife, and the burgler gets shocked, and then he runs out and you chase after him and stab him to death, you're a murderer. Simple as that.

The law gives you plenty of room to defend yourself, but not carry out capital punishment when it's clear that the intruder or burgler means no physical harm to your or your property.

Killing someone as they are fleeing from petty crime is murder.
 
I dont even know why its a question, someone breaks in, you should have the right to neutralize them.

I see where you're going with this, and I agree to a point. But I don't think it has anything to do with being a psycho or murderer.

Yeah, you shouldn't chase a guy down in your front yard and stab him to death. You should know when to stop and be all logical.

But the dude shouldn't be in your house to start, and him running away doesn't really mean much - he could be running to get his buddy outside. And with a genetic protection instinct kicking in and adrenaline overriding your human brain, well, things like this are going to happen and I don't think there is a criminal or "evil" element in the defender's behavior.
 
Yea my little sisters car got broken into last night and I wish i could of shot them. If they are in your house you should deffinately shoot them just make sure they are facing you. If they are running away and you shoot them in a back then you gotta get a good lawyer. Only shoot if necassary. Taking a human life can fuck your head up. Think before u act

In the UK burglers are usually opportunits who burgle to take stuff to sell to make money, they usually go for the least resistance route, breaking into homes when occupants are away.. there hasn't been a single case in the UK were a burgler has turned into a murderer to kill eye witnesses.

Burglers will ususally flee when they come into contact with occupants, in the rare case that they stay to confront occupants then by all means the homeowners are free to protect themselves. That has only happened in the UK against famous celebrities like kerry katona because the needed her to open her safe to hand over all their valuable jewlelry and money. But that's not really burglery, that's kidnap, and even then you're facing some armed, probably ex-military team of burglers, and you probably don't stand a chance anyway.

By law, the sole act of breaking into your home while you and your family are in it makes it a serious violent crime already (even before the burglar makes their intention known). Home Invasion carries a lot of prison time and once they are spotted there is a very serious risk that they will kill any witnesses to avoid prison time for the home invasion. The prisons are full of people that committed a crime without the intention of killing the victim until they were identified and felt they had no choice.



Home Invasion is about as far from a petty crime as their is. In most states, the only crimes more serious that I am aware of are rape and murder, both punishable by up to life in prison. Nothing petty about that.

We're not talking about shooting a guy that's trying to steal your car. Stop trying to frame this as a property crime when it isn't. Home Invasion is classified as a violent crime like attempted murder or armed robbery, not a property crime like car theft or receiving stolen property.

I'm a firm believer that anyone that enters my house without my permission regardless of their intentions will meet my 9mm. It's better to be safe than sorry. Shoot to kill if you ever draw your weapon, no questions asked.

This actually happened to a friend, except it wasnt a robber. Some guy ran in his front door and punched him in the face... Not sure why,something to do with my friend saying something smart ass to the guys sister. The cops arrested the guy and the officer told my friend that he should taking this guy off in a body bag instead of to jail.

Cop also told my buddy that this guy will get bonded out tonight and should he come back to his home just shoot the fucker if he entered the home again. But, this is South Carolina .......
so it;s not surprising.
 
In all honesty, one of my biggest fears is getting serious time behind bars for some bullshit scenario like this.

Even if the guy was completely unarmed, how the fuck do I know there's not a second or third person around the corner that is?
 
Move to a state that doesn't automatically think you are a criminal or a psychopath just because you decide to meet force with force in defense of your castle.
 
He hasn't been charged with anything yet. They need to make sure he didn't just drag a guy in off the street and kill him.

Once they have all the facts, assuming he acted in self-defense, I don't think he's going to be charged with anything.

Not that I want to side with Tiger on this one; but there is a difference in his case that he's probably not aware of.

Our Genie is out of the bottle. Theirs isn't.

Our bad guys have guns, and therefore a gun culture. Theirs don't.

We seriously have to worry about the guy coming back to kill us in our sleep if we "made" the perp... They probably don't, because their criminals just aren't as likely to ever kill anyone in their whole criminal career over there without the gun culture facilitating the use of deadly force so often.

Personally I've decided to shoot every home intruder in the nuts immediately.

If they're armed and that doesn't drop their weapon, then they get one in the head.

If they're not, then I'm at least assured that they'll never have children, and I won't be charged with Murder no matter how good their lawyer is.

I agree 100% with this guy. I'll rot in prison first knowing I kept my family safe. Besides, a good lawyer will keep your head above water...

Was reading the paper about a similar incident (here in Canada too), and what our law comes down to is this:

* You may only attack the perp with equal force that they are threatening you with.

* If they have a knife, you are not permitted to have a bat or a gun.

* If they have a gun - well you're fucked for one, but even then it has to proven that the perp is in your home, with gun drawn, in order to do you or your fam harm in order to get yours.

I remember reading the victim/home owners say something logical in the quotes like "I don't have time to sit there and reason with a burglar or assess or ask what they are armed with so I can just go and grab a suitable defense weapon before they proceed"...

Oh and if you don't have a camera, and have not shown a reasonable attempt to reason with the burglar or 'equal' yourself to them - then you're fucked even quicker.

Next time you get robbed - ask them to come in for tea, see if they need a foot rub maybe...
