The question is phrased poorly. Had they said, "what program do you use to access the internet?" they would have gotten a lot more correct answers.

of course there is. what's to say some/many these people in the video aren't geniuses at other thing? That's been exactly my point this whole time.

Edit: If you drive a car, I don't expect you to be able to identify what part of the engine does. The knowing what the engine is, is like knowing what a computer is. You don't need to know what type of engine it is, you don't need to know how to replace parts..

The car is the internet and the engine is the browser. People should know both.

LOL it's not like you have to be a computer geek to know what a browser is - I mean, just by reading all of the stuff like newspapers or news on the internet (using web browser) you come across terms like "web browser" and "Firefox" together.

But ordinary folks are just so ignorant, they don't give a shit about such matters like the difference between search engine and browser :D And that's why they are considered average and we're so unique LOL

Actually a bit surprising that people are this clueless, I always assume that the common population has at least a 10th of the technology sense that we do. Bad assumption I guess.
