Fuck - this sounds like a DP thread...oh well. I'm curious after seeing the BIN on v7n at $500,000. I know v7n is bigger than Wickedfire, has more active users etc., and it would seem to be more valuable. But wasn't there some rumor awhile back that Jon turned down a few million for this site? I doubt that's true, but it raises an interesting question - How much money would you pay for the #1 Gay Webmaster Forum?

I got a friend that offered jon & brandon $15MM for wickedfire and they turned it down.

Either your friend was retarded, or not serious. No offense - I like this forum and all, but where did that valuation come from?

And if they did turn down $15 million...uh, well that would be a monumental fuck-up. Bet they wish they had that to do again...

I believe it. Take how many affiliates there are on this forum, times even just 10000/month, and take 2-5 percent. That's what the possible income for this forum is, as well as advertising etc.

15m sounds like a decent figure.

I don't understand your math. Where are you getting 10000/month from? Where are you getting 2-5 percent from? You think Wickedfire is making a million bucks a month?

I believe it was (allegedly) $16 million?

Anyway, Jon was pretty serious about it, and although I personally don't know the guy, he doesn't seem to be someone to outright make a lie about something like that.

I would be more interested to know the figures he's pulling in every month to be able to turn down an offer like that ;)

Maybe Jon et al. run the forums because they fucking LOVE IT, not for the money.

They have enough money - trust me. You'll get to a point (well most won't) some day where money doesn't matter anymore. It's about doing your best to give back to the industry that made you a shitload of cash; and having a fun time doing it.

10K a month is a random number I pulled out of my ass by thinking of how many affiliates (ACTIVE) on this forum are in the low-mid xx,xxx/month to mid xx,xxx to even low xxx,xxx/month and then 2-5 as in referral commission on networks. Think about it (though I am just guessing here mwahah....)

1 billion dollars.

Really? So He must charge money for access to certain parts of the site so he can help the homeless, and feed starving kittens?

If you believe it's not about the money, you're nuts.

And I'd say $200k tops.

I'd be scared to know just what the 'Members Area' alone is worth in the "Premium Business Section".

LOL

So how would you calculate v7n's worth, Einstein ?
