I have a 2006 BMW 330 coupe and although I like driving the car, I've noticed that BMWs are not only expensive to fix, their parts are of shitty quality.

Just lately, my coolant reservoir tank cracked because it's made of fucking plastic and apparently these things crack all the time. So damn expensive to fix because of the labor involved...which is where they get you.

A few years ago, I had an Acura Integra which I bought brand new and made in Japan too so no Friday car from the USA. That thing went over 100,000 miles with not one single thing wrong with it. Great car...just too slow for my taste.

At any rate, I wish I knew how to fix these BMWs myself or lived in a house so I could work on my own so the repairs don't bleed me dry.

yeah.... driving a French car. A little easier to work on then the Beamer though...

You don't buy a BMW for the reliability. That pretty much goes for any German car though. If you want bullet proof reliability buy Japanese, always. If you're looking for a "pure" driving experience buy German. If you're looking for the cheapest car possible, buy American.

Fixing an 06 BMW 330 shouldn't be hard and I bet your coolant resevoir could be replaced in your driveway over a weekend with a few hand tools. Pick up a Haynes manual and have at it. Offer some beer to a buddy if you need 4 hands.

A4. Have had it for like 2.5 years. Never had any major problems (had to replace a valve once, I think it was like a couple hundred bucks, I forget.)

I lease newer BMW's. I drive a 2011 Z4 but going to switch to a 2013 in a couple weeks. They are still covered by the 4 year/50k mile so all repairs are basically free.

Infiniti G.

The Lexus, Infiniti, and Acura lines are all 'luxury' with the reliability of Japanese. Some are fast too (Is350, G37, M56, etc).
BMW has their 4 year warranty, which is new (if you want to purchase new).

Whenever I leave my mom's basement, I pretty much just ride my bike or bum a ride if I've got a flat tire.

What year and how many miles? My last car was an A4, spent so much fucking money fixing it.

I only lease brand new whips now, only way to go for me. Zero maintenance, zero worry.

I need a winter beater. I want something AWD, reliable, etc. Gonna throw some blizzaks/winter tires on it and use it for my mountains car. Was thinking an old subby WRX

Low, stiff, and yanking 911s in the summer; lifted, soft, and eating up mountains in the winter. :evil_laughter:
