(I posted this on another board but it doesn't hurt to ask in other venues)

There's MMORPGs for super heroes -- City of Heroes, etc.

Tons of fantasy MMORPGs -- everquest, guildwars, WoW, UO, etc etc.

There's space MMORPGs like Star Wars galaxies, etc

Besides these, what kind of setting for an MMORPG would you PERSONALLY like to see implemented?

Westerns? Martial Arts-based settings? Samurai/Bushido? Pirates?

I am a huge MMORPG dork.. Pretty much the only games i play. Anyways, there are a couple. A few years ago a company was actually working on a Pulp Fiction (think Indiana Jones) MMORPG that had a lot of promise. They ended up pulling the plug before they got out of Alpha, though.

I know of another small/one man operation that has been working on a western MMORPG for a while, but I don't think it has gotten any traction or real financing.

So those would be my top 2. Western genre, and a Pulp Fiction High Adventure.

i want a political mmorpg ...lie and cheat your way to the top!...although pirates sounds fun....but watch out for those ass pirates

Fucking Pokemon!

Edit: Where's the DAOC love! I can't wait to play Mass Effect.

What I'd REALLY like would be a "Happy tree friends"-like MMORPG - cute animals killed in horrible ways :D
Give me that and I'd be happy

I thought about this the other day and I think it would be cool to have an online mob game. You can have different families control different territories within the game and when you initially start off you can do shit work for a particular family and climb the ranks by completing jobs they assign you.

How about one that allows for all types of adventure/fantasy figures - superheroes, cowboys, pirates, monsters, samurai, space fantasy, etc.?

This is another good idea.... I would like to see Al Capone Era mobsters though.

I played a pen-and-paper game when I was a wee lad called Bootlegger. Something like that.

Well, there is a pirates one coming out. And some martial arts ones I believe. They look like crap though.

As a mmog whore, I've played pretty much all of the major ones. I really don't care what the setting is, although something other than fantasy would be nice. Mobsters, gangs, gothic London vampire/Jack the Ripper/Frankenstein, western, road warrior, I'd play them all. My concern is gameplay. I'd like Eve Online's(and old school UO) openness and cut throat gameplay with WoWs quest system, Star Wars city building, crafting and graphics.
