What paperwork do you have someone sign before giving them access to your server?

So I have developers who will need access to my server. What paperwork do you typically have someone sign before granting them access?

I've had to sign a few "non competes" that otherwise would have made me a lot of money. I know your looking for more than that, but don't forget it.

And that's coming from the developers point of view? What about legal terms that don't allow developers to 'backup' an image of your data on their local machine/remove all data from their machine after the contract is completed?

Contract out to a qualified server administrator who can lock things down for you, and give your developers access to only the things they need.

Other than that, don't do anything.

If you are concerned about it why not get a second server/vps and just put up what they must work with. Consider it a developer server and just migrate when they are done.

None. You don't give them access to a box with money sites on it.

What you could do is use something like a liquidweb smart server and snapshot the main config on a smaller instance for dev purposes. Then when they're done, just cancel it.

as matt said, create a dev environment. If you are really paranoid, draft a nice Legal document with contract terms and data privacy etc
