What supplements do you take?

Getting a PHD is a lot like reading this thread. Contradicting opinions on almost everything and it's pretty confusing to figure out what's what. I don't know enough nor have the time or desire to get into the very detailed sciences of the effects of each supplement. So I get what you're saying but I think it's an over simplification.

that's exaclty what I said.... ohhhhhhh wait a minute i see what you did there.

no really though, shut the fuck up. you're not funny and your reply is useless. thanks.

+ caffeine, multivitamins, ginkgo, panax ginseng, etc

I use to take 1,3-Dimethylamylamine (a main ingredient of Jack3d) almost daily but I've stopped. Taking it for so long I not only developed a tolerance, but whenever I take it now instead of giving me energy it causes an almost immediate crash.

Can't believe some of you use so many supps. American culture at work I guess. A balanced diet + regular training will produce a better outcome at a cheaper price. Unless you hit the juice, there is not a supplement on the market that is going to contribute to making gains in any significant manner.

Started taking a bunch of stuff..nothing contraindicative but for my workouts, and just general health:

1.5-2 scoops on lifting days, 1 scoop on cardio days:

Multivitamin:

Only on lifting days (a nitric oxide from the guys who make jack3d):

Little bit of this added to my jack3d before workout to get a higher content:

Protein:

And finally:

So a lot, but specific purposes, and some not every day. Approaching 400lb on squats, 250-275 on bench, and 250-275 on cleans (200 on clean + jerk)

Oh and da berries.

Yok3d and Jack3d are the shiz - terrific pumps from Jack3d, and Yok3d looked better though it never made it to Canada. Stock up on that stuff while you can, they took Jack3d away from us in Canada a bit ago, and I bet they'll ban it in the US sometime soon too. 1,3 Dimethylamylamine is too cheap and effective.

Have you tried any supps?

I just started lifting, but I've been cycling for a while. Supplements have been key to getting everything I need out of my diet and I don't bench anywhere near 340. More like 140... :-/

I do run five miles in without getting winded and cycle 50 miles on Saturday and Sunday to just stay fresh though.

I just started taking Rx6 to help me cut more water weight and stay energized, you guys might want to check it out if you're trying to cut up opposed to bulk up.

Take NO-Xplode and you can add another 30-40 on your bench.

How much do you lift leg wise?

Personally, I'm all legs... Typical sprint cyclist body. When it comes to working the upper body I have a big torso and big forearms, but the bigceps and traps are weaker than they look...

I'm going through that typical skinny guy feeling when I work my upper body right now. :smokin:

I never understood the guys who are like "I bench 3,000lbs naturally and you're all idiots". Heck, I can calf raise in the upper 200s all day, doesn't mean I scoff over big guys with small legs.

We all have the same goal, optimum health and great bodies. :D

Truly, supplements are for the poor who can't afford whole foods.

Drink milk and you have your whey + casein.
Eat fish and you have your fish oils.
The list goes on and on.

But if you don't have the time to create a balanced diet, or you just feel the need to take supplements, then I don't blame you. Do w.e you want.

I'm surprised no one mentioned piracetam (or another racetam).

I take ~8-10g of piracetam daily, in addition to the usual fish oil + B vitamin / multivitamin stack.
