Had a great conversation with a self-proclaimed "marketing guru" over a couple of beers last night about course marketplaces. And he had to say about how well Udemy did with the chicken/egg problem and I on the other hand as their somewhat ideal customer hated the site.
Personally, I think that Udemy (although majorly successful), attracts those instructors who look for money over passion and reels in those clueless customers who think they are getting the best education. OneMonth does a great job for customers whereas Fedora does a decent job for Instructors.
It baffles me to think that these pros didn't come together in one place.
So yeah, what would your ideal course marketplace be like? What would you as an instructor expect? and what would you as a customer would love having?
