What's a good CTR theme for an authority site?

I have background in front-end web development so I can write this myself but, why do the work if something is already out there?

So, is there a good, non-spammy looking theme that gets high CTR?

CTR-Theme and BlueSense get good CTRs but just hurts your eyes and won't fit on an authority site.

Yeah, I know, UGLY ==> High CTR but, somewhere in my mind, I want to believe that you can get a high CTR with a non-ugly layout.

If there isn't a good looking high CTR theme that would fit for an authority site, if I go and develop one, would you be interested?

Are you even reading what you're typing? How are we really supposed to give you good feedback without knowing the niche or what product (probably adsense) you're going to promote? Too many variables.

When it comes down to it, simple > complex for just about anything.

Yeah, I was planning on making a minimalistic theme so that the viewer's eyes would first see the colors on the Adsense blocks instead of seeing the text.

what else do I need to clear up?

Well, it depends on what your end goal is and your traffic source (don't tell us). If you're aiming to rank high on the SERPs, you can get away with putting adsense blocks in obnoxiously obvious spots and still do well. If you're trying to get more viralish traffic from a variety of sources, you're going to have to sacrifice earnings for traffic for LONG time until you establish yourself.

If you have a shitty looking theme that gets a high CTR then take it and make it pretty. By the time you do all the research trying to find one that's already done you could have probably had it finished and it would have been unique.

CTR Theme and BlueSense are designed for Adsense sites. It's to churn a lot of sites with the goal of Adsense as the primary income driver.

Now most authority sites don't do Adsense since basically the owners want more control (editiorial, targetting, etc) which you don't get to have with Adsense. If you have an authority site, you can make more money by selling your own ads.

Also, does anyone know a mobile friendly high CTR theme?

CTR-theme looks like shit on my phone and I'm willing to write a mobile version but I only have 1 site that gets mobile views. Anyone else have a need for this?

If your site is really an authority site (depends on your definition of an authority site), I would do a custom design for it.
