What's a Good Firewall?

Your "firewalling" should be in layers. First, use an ISP or email client service that offers online (server side) virus, spam and content filters.
Second, use a hardware router with a built in firewall between your modem and your computer or network.
Third, install personal firewall, anti-(spyware, virus, trojan, spam etc) software on your computer.

Best firewall is not popular.
Cos all virusmakers write viruses witch avoid all popular firewalls.

You're all very funny...

But if someone wants what is on your computer bad enough they will always find a way in no matter what kind of security you have.

My old neighbor was a tech whiz and managed to get through my fire walled linksys router, then through my belkin n1 wireless router which also has a firewall and encrypts the data, then through my desktop XP firewall and kaspersky Firewall.
He told me he cracked my network and I didn't believe him until he named off some of my porns and school papers.

I honestly believe security software only keeps the amateur hackers out.

It takes 2 minutes to crack a router with WEP enabled... after getting through that he doesn't have to "get through your XP and kaspersky firewall" at all to know what you're looking at.

Personal firewalls are a fucking waste. No one cares whats on your shitty home computer unless you're IBM or something. What are they gonna do? Hack you and steal all your skittles pics?

This concept of thinking your computer must have top secret data to be worth protecting, is very 1990's of you. There are plenty of things the intruder wants from you, and it doesn't have to be computer files. To hide their tracks, they could use your machine as a jumping off point or proxy to reach other targets. Perhaps they need more storage space, or they want to borrow your wireless bandwidth. Nobody knows what is on your computer, and that's part of the appeal, the curiosity and thrill of getting in and looking around. Wake up and stop contributing to the millions of drone botnets.
