So after being a phantom on this forum for almost a entire year I have finally decided to post on here. I realize that in order to make money online I can't sit and read a fucking forum all day. I need to take some action. Well this is what I have been telling myself since January 2010.

Screw this. I have been wasting valuable time fucking off playing Halo and its getting me nowhere. So now I need to decide on what I should start with. I've looked into several areas such as article marketing, local business SEO and blogs. Ive made a few bucks in article marketing clickbank products but nothing much.

Anybody want to give me some useful advice on where I should start? Im not looking for a free lunch here gentlemen just insight on what may have been useful to start out with. Have read the forums but thought I would make my stupid newbie post by asking this question.

BTW mods to just show that I did read the forum rules before posting I say fuck shit dick ass fucker. I hope that is enough swear words for a post.:D

you've been playing Halo too much? man, video games are the downfall of the modern young man hahahaha

Yes, that and modern warfare 2. Damn I am sick of videogames.

The key for me has always been just doing it. It doesn't take months or years to figure out how/where to start. It might take that long to really really get a hang of it, but to just Start "making money online" can be done today, if you want to.

To be honest, this is like a typical post I read at forums like Warriorforum- yeah, I read it occassionally and have found exactly one useful post there in my time browsing. There is so much emphasis on digital products/clickbank/ebook/article marketing bullshit.

If I were just starting making money online, this is what I would do:

Find a niche- it doesn't have to be top 10 or top 100. It just needs search volume, something that someone might buy online- which pretty much means ANYTHING that anyone would ever buy in real life.

Register a domain. Spend between $1-10 for this. I prefer keyword domains.

Throw up some content- it can be a 1 page Wordpress blog, whatever. You MIGHT need hosting, which you can get without paying much if anything upfront.

Signup for affiliates and/or other advertising programs.

Get links.

Things get more complicated than that, but for all the people sitting around forums not making any money that's pretty much all it takes to do something. And if you already have sites and have some experience with affiliate programs you probably have a head start.

As far as "article marketing, local business SEO and blogs"- to me these are more methods than "areas" I would focus on. I focus on affiliate marketing on my own sites. SEO is a given. Blogs are a given- might be used to actually sell something or to get links/content- probably both. I've never seen the point in article marketing really, at least not for sales. For links, if you do it the right way. I wouldnt put too much time in creating content for other people's sites.

Anyway, that's just my take. And I am nowhere close to the typical guy here. So you will get different advice. Mine is tailored to people who procrastinate and have the whole paralysis by analysis thing and overthink shit.

Thanks, this is exactly what I needed to hear.

You have given us nothing to work with. Budget, time constraints, strengths and weaknesses, preferences, or time frame.

My advice:

1. Read this.

2. Keep newbie questions in the Newbie section.

3. Do something, and compile data. Then, ask for advice on improving your results in the AM and Traffic sections.

You're a one-post newb asking for help. You've admitted to not knowing how to manage your time. That means you're probably a waste of our time.

Once you actually do something instead of talking about it, you'll gain some credibility. With it, you'll get higher quality help.

EDIT: JohnCJackson's advice aside.
