Why do they have to take the entire wallet? Just take the cash, and leave the plastic, because it's going to the worthless to you anyway, especially the ATM cards that aren't attached to VISA / MC. Then the credit cards are usually going to be cancelled within a few hours of you stealing it, once the owner realizes it's been stolen.

I don't care about the $600 in there, but I do very much care about the ATM cards, especially since I'm about 13,000kms away from the nearest bank branch!

Let them use the ATM, alert the authorities, spank their asses, click pictures, upload to WF, let us jizz.

Coz sometimes, unknown criminals getting spanked on their bare butts gets us off.
 
It takes less time to rob a full wallet and search it fully later than take the cash out and replace. Plus, you may always have shit stashed in there.

I know how you feel, though I appreciate it more than anything when somebody returns my wallet with all my shit intact.

Yeah, it sucks to know they have your address and stuff too. They certainly aren't going to sift through what they want to keep and leave behind while in the act of stealing though.

Apparently, there's perks to be known as the rich white man in the neighborhood. I'm about 95% certain as to who it is now.

Dumb fuck. Especially since I left it at the store directly beside our house. I'm there about 10 times a day, basically treat the place like my pantry, and accidentally left my wallet on the counter. Then this dipshit decides it's a good idea to steal it.

That'll be taken care of tonight or tomorrow though.
 
The worst = DMV trip for a new license. I'd damn near pay a few hundred to not have to go through that utter bullshit.
 
I never carry a wallet. I have DL and one card in my front pocket, and in the rare chance I need cash for something, I stop by the ATM. Why in the hell did you have $600 in there?

No such thing as "Lost & Found". If you leave it you lose it. Probably threw your wallet in the garbage or something.

see now thats royally bullshit if you ask me, had my wallet stolen once, $150 cash gone. 2 weeks later, it shows up in the mail, no return address. just my wallet, everything but my cash in it. at least i didnt have to go get a new SS card or DL

There's a general rule among expats here, or at least those with common sense -- never bring any goods or money into this country that you're not willing to walk away from. Guess I could setup an intermediary / daily spending account, and just do a wire transfer every 2 - 4 weeks like many do, but I'm lazy.

Costs $10 for me to pull money out of an ATM here, so I always just pull out the max, which is 20,000 (~$660 - $700).
