The picture is from a town called Manarola.

It is really, really great.

We rented a small (very small) house to stay in for a week. Turns out it was just 2 rooms on 2 floors. Ground floor: Kitchen and bathroom, 1st floor: bedroom.

It was right in the hills above a small town called "Chiavari"

We had a great patio and the whole thing was situated in the middle of an olive tree field.

One of the best vacations ever.

I'm sure of it. But that's why you take up snow sports like these guys:

I know most people on this forum would prefer someplace warm where they can surf, but you can do that too... lots of vids of people on epic rides downriver from glacial runoff. Alaska even has a surf shop.

It's not for everyone, but its what I love.

I love snow and cold places. Alaska is like northern Norway, great spaces, powerful sense of freedom.
