Where were you on 9-11-01?

why does everyone think their 9/11 story is important? unless you were in the towers, who gives a fuck where you were?

I think the fact that it is forever imprinted onto our minds shows how much we were affected by the loss of life in the towers.

i was 16 and and a jr in high school, i showed up to my first class which was adv. health occ. and got there the tv was on in the room and the teacher said just sit down and watch. I honestly thought it was a movie at first. Then the second plane hit, they told us we could either go home or we could stay at the school if we wanted, i stayed for a while, then went home and watched the news non stop, damn near every classroom had CNN playing all day during class for like 2 weeks.

Fuck you guys are young!

I was a freshman in college, I slept though the whole day skipping class in the process. When I woke up that evening I finally got the news and said "lol wut?", no shits were given. By then we knew that we were not under constant attack.

My sister was at a friends house, went to pick her up and she comes outside yelling something about a plane and come inside its on the news.
Spent the rest of the day sitting there watching everything unfold. No TV in my familys house - I was glued to the radio and the internet for the next couple weeks.

Turned 18 on 9/12. Not much of a party, everyone just kinda stood around and mumbled.

First plane I saw afterwards was a USAF C-130 cargo plane, was flying about 1,000 feet above the ground. I was driving and it scared the shit out of me when I saw it, almost got in a wreck.

You just didnt care that all those people died?

10th grade in class, just remember watching TV the rest of the day in school.

You just didnt care that all those people died?

Do I care about all the people shot, run over, died of cancer, died of falling pianos, in car accidents, OD on drugs, or starved to death in africa everyday?

No I didn't care. I knew none of them, I have never been to NY, they died the sky was not falling. Do I feel bad that they died in a most horrible fashion? Sure, thats a horrible way to go for sure and I felt sorry for them.

There are nearly 7 BILLION people on this earth, why do you care so much about those 3,000 when more die each day from god only knows what random event.

In 5th grade English class. We spent the rest of the day with the TV on, watching the events unfold. It was a sad day.

DAMN SONS - all this shit about 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th grade. You all some young ass pups.

lol.... they make me feel old.

Got woken up by father in law just after the first tower was hit (I'm in Aus) a little earlier on a a work morning than I usually get up. Remember asking him if it was real, and standing there watching the tv in disbelief. The next words were "you are fucking kidding me" when the second plane hit about nineteen minutes later.

Needless to say, I and numerous other Australians, were late for work that day.

Such a senseless waste of life.

Hey beer nuts fuck off what 3rd world country are you from??

I was on my way to my job didn't have the radio on when I arrived and one of my coworkers told me what happened, I sat down in my chair watching it on TV, sat there for 10 hours, never left the chair, certain things the human soul was never meant to deal with that was one of them, GOD BLESS THE USA!!!

In front of the TV, literally stunned. Even today when I see images and videos I am still shocked by the people in WTC who plunge into their deaths, willingly. NEVER FORGET

Damn there are so many young'uns here! I thought we'd be randomly dispersed but it seems that half of WF is between 18 and 28 years old!

Damn I feel older today... More so than on a birthday!

Speaking of which; Happy Birthday sumohax0r! May your birthday NOT be overshadowed by unfortunate events for as long as you live.

WTF? Wouldn't it have been around 11PM your time when they hit?

I got woken up by the news before the 2nd plane hit. My brother's wife called to tell me, as she was the official gossip hound of the family.

I was engaged to my wife at the time and we were to be married about a month later. I couldn't stop thinking about what it would do to our wedding plans because she lived in Thailand... The whole family had tickets to fly in!

As it was, everything was pushed back to a December wedding, and it was a NIGHTMARE doing so and then going to honeymoon out of the country to a 3rd country...

The words: "The terrorists have already won" rang true to me way back then... All this TSA shit that came later is just them kicking the extra point or spiking the ball after touchdown...

Fucked if I know tbh. I could have been working nightshift (or some strange arse shift time) at the time. As it is it is 9am here atm, and we are about 18+ hours ahead - or something like that. Whether I got the time wrong or not is of little consequence - I still vividly remember my reactions to it and how it made me feel.

4th grade, we were in gym when our homeroom teacher came in and was like "Look guys, something happened and I'm going to let your parents explain it to you when you get home." Then we spent the next couple hours on lockdown in our homeroom class and I went home to watch the news and see all the events unfold.

Was at work as a dispatcher at a trucking company. My boss got up and went into the break room and turned the TV on. Didn't think nothing of it, he did that when he was bored. Next thing I know, he's yelling for me to get in there and check out the news. The first tower had just got hit, and we watched - along with millions - as the second one got hit.

After that they announced that planes were grounded. An hour or so later, two F-16's go screaming by my window followed by Air Force One. I live in Omaha, and Bush was on his way to Offutt AFB.

Later that day, found out my uncle was in the section of the Pentagon that got hit. Luckily, his meeting ended early that day and he was out of the building about an hour before the third plane hit the Pentagon.

Got married 4 days later. Had the reception in an airport.

I forgot how young WF is.

I was managing a bank, came in late, had no idea what happened, had listened to CD's on my way in, walked in, saw a TV on in the lobby, and thought WTF - Who the hell put the TV in the lobby?
