Well, my contract is up. Which new Droid phone should I be looking at? We are on Verizon.

I'm not current on the whats the latest phone tech but have been looking at the Droid X2.

thanks for any advice

lg optimus 2 or the t-mobile G2x, i know ur on verizon but its the first dual core smart phone, and t-mobiles 4g network is great, very very fast

if you can afford to wait a bit, see if the optimus 3d comes out on verizon.

picked up the developer version at google i/o. easily the least gimmicky 3d device out there imo.

+ you get all that dual core goodness.

I'm not sure whether I care if its an actual droid or not but I think I want android over iphone.

I'm also on verizon and interested in this. Still rocking the 1st Droid.

Seeking best phone with Android platform

I have had some issues with droids.

I had 3 droid 1's and going on my 3rd droid 2 global.

About to get my 4th droid 2 because the battery doesn't charge it anymore.

Since the insurance company sends refurbished phones that's probably half the problem.

my droid X was the biggest piece of shit I ever had.

The replacement refurb had 1/3 of the screen that didn't illuminate.

I would not recommend motorola based on conversations with VZW techs who said they get more back than go out.

Friends w/ all sorts of other android phones love them. As for me I was so frustrated I went back to an iphone.

Then again I'm a hipster.

:tightpants:

I have the Droid 1 and just got my wife the iPhone 4. The iPhone is a superior phone as our house is a dead zone but hers gets reception.

I would prefer not to go Apple but it is tempting when my contract is up.

I will keep an eye on this thread and look forward to anything that will change my mind.

Samsung Charge? Great battery life, amazing screen, Froyo, Verizon LTE. Its not dual core but for me having a battery that lasts longer than 8 hours is far more important.

I like my droid X. Yeah the battery life is kinda weak but that's due to some of the apps that I'm running (beluga I blame, but still having fun with). I only wished it would play divx movies better. Now if the file is to large the sound looses sync. But shorter tv files work ok (for on the plane).

In fact I'm not in the country now so I'm swyping this post right now on it. I used to only love my blackberry but swype is pretty nice. I've used it for six months now.

I don't think the Galaxy S II is available from verizon.

From what I've read the only way to get one is to purchase and unlocked phone for like $800
