Windows XP on the PC. Have you guys been watching the new "MAC vs. PC" Commercial? Hit the nail on the head exactly with Vista users. The are actually upgrading back to XP which is a more familiar [stable] OS :)

Switched to OS X last year, and haven't looked back. Been using Windows 2000 for 5 years before that.

Vista Ultimate, I had Linux for a while, but switched back to Windows for business since I ran in to problems where I didn't know how to do things.

Hows ultimate working out for you? In terms of performance and reliability.

Another question, how much ram are you running on?

OS X. I used windows for 10 years. Once I tried OS X, I never turned my XP box on again.

The best way to describe it, is once you've tweaked it to your tastes, it's like an extension of your body. It lets me get my work done without thinking about what I need to do to get my work done.

It's heady shit.

Linux (OpenSuse 10.3 as distro) with VMware server for testing other distro's and M$ stuff). Freedom of what you want to run and all the network tools on my laptop that I need.

Ubuntu Linux, I use to be a slackware user, and then got married. I have to spend time with my wife, instead of fiddling with stuff like adding middle mouse roller to the X.org install.
Leopard Runs on my PC, with stability issues with my setup. Mileage will vare from setup to setup. Someone in a earlier post said you can't use updates, but that isn't true anymore. Applying an EFI patch(which needs a system somewhat close to an actual mac hardware, ex: intel motherboard p33-p35 type, core duo processor), and if Im correct a you can use vanilla(non-changed) kernel. Otherwise, your going to be installing each update manually a bit different.
Its just of matter if you know your hardware and be ready for some major headaches. Plus, it use to be a lot worse, with technical knowhow, but oddly Leopard was probably the most easiest Mac OSX to install to date.
For headaches for me For example, I can't run Open Office. That really makes work harder for me.

vista

used to be a ubuntu guru but i can't seem to enjoy vmware windows emulation

i need my photoshop and flash

Linux (Gentoo > *). I haven't booted into Windows in years.. no problems with Linux, but will switch to OS X exclusively in a heartbeat when I could afford to.

Vista, with some osx and cygwin thrown in, for development purposes. All my development software runs fine and has zero issues so far with some pretty old legacy hardware !

is vista the worst OS every? Just got a thinkpad T61 (1GB ram) and it has vista on it. It crushed twice in the first fifteen minute..installed ubuntu and it run 10x faster
