I saw last night on CNN a nice broadcast, for more then half an hour, about the new PS3 & Wii. It's grazy how popular those games are worldwide!!
It really got out of hand on the first day of sales when several people got injured & even one person was killed in the US! Those games are not cheap for youngsters: $500. On the black market the new PS3 was offered (on eBay) for $10,000, that's really insain!!!
Also several kids were asked which one they liked more after testing both: the new PS3 or Wii!? It looked like that more children picked the Wii! Marketeers of PS3 & Wii, trying to target now as well adults & women. Not sure if I will buy one though heh, but those games look very real I have to say. For example the tennis game, when you move your arm like hitting the ball holding the remote control, the player on your screen will make the same movements with his arms as you do. That's cool stuff!!
Besides that they interviewed some guy of MIT and what he had to say about playing games & development of children: He mentioned that because of playing games, kids become better in processing information & that playing games will add social relations by meeting people online as well. Critics say that children become less social when playing those games (whole day)...
