I'm well paid and have a very decent boss. But the work is generally boring and advancement opptunities are not very appealing. I'm dying to get to the point where I don't have to have a job. But I have a disabled spouse and two kids in grade school so have limited time to get stuff done. Plus it's hard to focus when your tired - which, since I lose sleep to do IM I constantly am -- so I'm not as productive as I could be in the time I have available. WF has been very motivating in the right way, and I'm making more progress in the right direction in the last few months than I have in the past few years.

It's just hard to move as fast as I'm able rather than as fast as I could if I had more time. Delagating to providers here is a big help. I recomend it if you can at all afford it.

Quit the 9-5 a year and half ago. Never go back.

Hubby's in the 9-5 boat, we struggle with whether he should continue that way (he enjoys it) or stay at home with me and expand. Either way, we need a bigger house.

Nice Turbo...

Looking to move soon too. Always been a renter but it may be time to buy. How do you know when its time? I always feel like one more big campaign? And what if things dry up?

no 9-5 but not b/c of AM. it's b/c my other biz also mints money and isn't a 9-5 either. multiple streams of income is one of the best things you can get. AM is dope, but better not to put all your eggs (or berries) in one basket.

Have been self employed in the offline world for 18 years. Man, time fly's... oh, that's not 9-5, that's 7am - 12 midnight (months on end), haha... It's been a journey to hell and back many a time... lot's of life experiences and skills that could be applied to anything.

Tampered with some internet ventures back in the late 90's and found some success but nothing to write home about (mistake was I should have taken it a lot more seriously, because it was a lot easier then than it is now, I think)...

Have some new projects in the works and the end goal is to have a balance of the offline and online succeeding in unison. I enjoy both.

I can't sit in front of the computer day and night for endless periods of time, need to be out. On the flip side it's really refreshing to get away from the outside and take on the challenge of the online world in a relaxing environment.

Balance and diversity is my goal.

i have a 9-5 offline business but I haven't been involved with it for about a year now. Just been working from home and I gotta say. I think its time i get a real job again, even if its just for a couple hours a week. I got the cabin fever somethin fierce. This internet shit at home is driving me crazy.

Hahaha... I feel the same way, so I'm opting for school again next fall. Working from home is savage status.

Oh so true.. but in reality it's still worse.

Up at 6:30am
Leave at 7:00am
Arrive at 8:00am
Leave at 5:00pm
Get Home at 6:00pm

So that's um.. 11.5 hours of the day gone.. /cry

I don't dislike my work (software programmer), but I dislike the daily routine.
Wow! Exact same boat here! Except my commute is pretty nice and i take off whenever the surf gets reeaaaly good. I like the people I work with, tech supports what i do, so I cant complain. Still have AM monies rolling in from my early retirement that ended after i wasn't makin enough to float the boat.

I really like my day job, (general contractor, mainly doing kitchens, and custom woodworking in upscale homes) i took a couple of months off to work on IM, but i just went back to work yesterday, i had a few jobs come in. dont know if i will ever fully quit doing it because it something different almost everyday. and doing 4 hours of work on 3 small projects and getting 200 bucks is nice.

Still in college... ~2 years to go... it's a 5 year Business Admnistration degree... VERY TOUGH

hope to get AM working before I start to hate my (future) job! Maybe I'll be better creating a consulting company with all the internet marketing shit I know!

Mon-Wed: Internet Business (+ other online antics)

Thur-Fri: Offline Business (gets me outside)

Sat-Sun: Anything I want.

That's excellent. I really appreciate people who are willing to do what they love even if it pays less. In my opinion even if it sounds cliche as hell doing what you love is the only thing that matters in the end.

I'm planning to dive back into photographing when I get my shit in order so I everything runs smoothly.

Theres always the fact that its easier to 'love' your dayjob, when you have a bit of a financial buffer, and going to the dayjob is not crucial. If my dayjob was optional, perhaps I'd see it in a different light.

I think I'm getting there slowly. Made a couple of grand since starting AM a little over two months ago. On April 30th Google ate my sites for breakfast however so I've made zero this month so far :(

Its real inspiring to hear about all your different situations folks.

me still have 9-5 job.. but for the fun of it... i like stuff i do in 9-5 hours... and yet have enough hours for online work..

but yeah my online income surpass my 9-5 in the third month yet.. i have not yet started AM.. income mostly from web designing...

hoping to make a buck in AM then leave 9-5...
