Now if roles were reversed Jesus would just magically heel himself, if he were stuck in a chair with a tube up his dick. Can superman do that?

Yeah but theoretically, Jesus could keep turning his cheek for so long that even superman would get tired of hitting him.

On one hand, he's killed like any other man and has only been resurrected once. Perhaps there is some limit to his 'respawn' ability.

On the other hand, he's the son of god, right? If that's true, god himself would just erase superman from existence.... Poof, never existed... Nothing to see here.

Since they are both peace-loving do-gooders though, the more interesting question is how do we turn them against each other to the point of fighting?

Any number of things. You have to remember that to Superman, Jesus is just some asshole claiming divinity because of apparent special abilities. I could see these two having some serious differences.
