Hey, that's why it's at D&B's. We can always get up and fuck off on the games if it degenerates into n00bfest, lol. I think it will be OK, though- nothing in the rules says we have to be polite to retards. They'll get the hint and shut up or leave...or not, and the lulz shall flow.
 


Thats true. As long as we get a few guys from here to show then im sure it will be cool. More shit gets done over the bar than staring at a projector.

I'm starting to think maybe a change of venue is in order... D&B's is trying to get us to buy some kind of party platter bullshit with charge & play cards. I don't feel like spending $30/person just for these noobs to show up and quiz us about wordpress. Looking into a few other places, that have overhead projectors/PC hookups, allow us to rent a 1/4 barrel and get a private room. At the very least we can get krunk and everyone can give me their keywords that way. D&B's is cool but they have a small party room (requires you to purchase a buffet/platter package), large stage room (way too big, stage with a podium), and the pool room (probably not enough seating & not conducive to a 'people-chilling-on-laptops' environment imho).
 
I was just posting in the meetup202 in chicago about doing something with paid marketing, bum/organic is so 1980. It would only be an hour each way if we combine chicago and wisconsin to do a wickedfire meetup. This way we could steal the whole show, and possibly we might actually learn something too. If we can do something like this, I'd honestly go atleast once every 2 months.
 
FYI, I'm just going to get us set up in the bar or maybe restaurant area with a few tables, and it'll just basically be a meet and greet, grab some drinks, and network for this first meetup. No pressure, just chillin, it'll be cool to meet you guys, etc- and those non-WF people are more then welcome as well, but they're not getting any noob presentations, atleast not until next month.

I can hook this up and host it right in Libertyville a mile off 294. Almost dead center between Mil/Chi, at a great place.

Let me know if you guys want me to pursue that and I will look into availiability, terms, etc. I know they have wifi and great sound gear, etc.

I would keep it out of "Meetup" too- run a special list out of Constant Contact so I can spam the fuck out of you guys between meetings.

Lets look into that for the next meeting, will probably be better. I just got off the phone with dave and busters, they're going to push some tables together for us in the bar area- i plan on just chilling, having a few drinks and talking shop with the WF folks, we can just move all the noobs over to their own table or something... lol.
 
nah, they wont actually do reservations unless you get the party room which is way too big for our turnout... the chick assured me there will be plenty of room in the bar on a tuesday night at 7pm for all of us.
