Whose Leads Are These?

Quick question, an affiliate rips your page and leaves your tracking code on there. You decide to modify the links on the page that was ripped and get some leads.

Now the affiliate wants to bitch to the network and get the leads transferred over.

Who should the leads belong to?

LOL. I've never heard of leads being transferred from one account to another. Seems like that would be a HUGE liability for the network if they moved the leads over.

Did the network contact you about this?

The leads shouldn't be transferred. It's the other affiliates fault for not making sure his links were setup properly.

how do you modify his links on his page after he ripped yours?

Do you have access to his server somehow?

I'm guessing he did it using his tracking code that was still on the page. Not sure how it is done, but I think you can mess with the page if it is making a call to a script that you control.

How are you editing the page on his server? Is there some XSS vulnerability you exploited?

If not XSS and you didn't edit the content of his page, I assume you happen to be running an offer that allows cookie stuffing so that you could insert a cookie on the visitor's computer once the call to your script loads. If this is true then it'd make sense since the tracking script is the last on the page, it overrides the person who ripped your page's cookie.

All in all, I don't think you're giving all the information to accurately ask for our opinions. Right now, I'm calling BS on this story.

I think he's saying that the links were redirects, either domains he owns or something like tracking202 or bevo. So, he has total control over where those links redirect to.

he likely just left the prosper202 js from the OP's site in place, which is then very easy to redirect the outbound links elsewhere from.

OP - the answer is YOU.

Well since you know who it is and who the network is call your lawyer and file a lawsuit for copyright infringement of your landing page.

Bingo.

I have no issues with getting my pages ripped, just getting leads taken away which I believed were rightfully mine.

That's pretty shitty, I take hours to craft my landers and would NEVER rip someone's lander just so I can't complain when someone does it to me.

well, seems to me if he paid for advertising so the leads would be his. most he would owe you is a site design fee, lol.

If I hacked you page and changed your links would they then be my leads? (please don't bring up bs on this sentence, it is a rough example) but you get my point.

In the end, who the fuck cares. if you got paid you got paid, he should take it as a lesson to comb through the code first.

you're stealing from me and making unauthorized, per my site that you stole's terms and conditions, javascript calls to my servers all because you were too stupid to remove scripts calling out from the code you stole?

LOLZ

I'll damn well point your fucking links anywhere I want, don't like that? DON'T CALL MY SERVER VIA MY OWN TRACKING JAVASCRIPT

This is like someone bitching when his hotlinked image turns into Goatse and gets him banned from a forum.

Are you fucking kidding me? And the network playing captain save a ho?

Unreal.

Network?

OP - You should be credited any and all leads. Period.

Stealing an LP is already lazy, but not even bothering to look over the code is just plain retarded and lazy. If the network decides to credit this retard for those leads it sets a precedence for pubs running through this network, so let us know which network it is if that ends up being the case.

It looks like the leads are getting transferred over which is complete BS.

Since it wasn't the network making the mistake, they have no right to step in at all. It just supports the case that they approve of ripping pages from other affiliates on their network and rewarding them.

If you wanna be like that guess what the design fee is exactly what the network took from him x10. Don't like the price then don't use the design.

EDIT:

Out the network

Oh shit lol, what is the network thinking if they think that transferring over the leads is the right thing to do. Fucktards.

Out them.
