HAHAHAHA all that work and you fucked up the joke! smooth Casanova make sure u know it's .org!

John Chow posts 3 times a day, it's like digg always new content some is crap some isnt, but at least when ur at work its something new to read.

Just my 2cents

I think he was banned from Digg a while back.

Whenever you throw out numbers, people pay attention. To this day, my interview with Markus Frind is by far my most read blog post, just because he claimed to be making $10,000 a day at the time.

The mainstream audience hears the numbers, and thats it. They do not understand how the business works. Fuck, there was that one popular blogger that listed Markus as the highest "salaried" blogger.

Now, before this sounds like a bash -- John Chow's audience is valuable. His traffic is targeted newbies and there is volume. Advertisers and marketers get just what they want.

I have him in my feed reader, because 1/1000 posts has something interesting in it. He really is a good salesmen, and thats interesting to watch.

I have to hand it to him, he's running quite the scheme over there. He spams the shit out of the page with ads, which are there to monetize the content... but the content is all monetized too. Best of all, he does this with an audience that is supposed to be more aware of blatant traffic monetization schemes and ad-blind than anyone else. Yet people still eat it up, he generates a shit load of ad revenue, and gains more readers every day.

Pretty much the ideal situation from an internet marketing perspective.

I think the "Gurus" are some of the top earners not because they're the best in the field, but because there's more money in playing the Guru role itself. Blogs, eBooks, seminars, e-courses, membership sites, newsletters, etc. Easy to sell when people think you have all the secrets, with ridiculous profit margins.

I heard he had one-too-many paid links on his site, and Google banned him, presumably 'pour encourager les autres'.

Now there's a challenge. Set up a site (not p0rn, gambling, pills), and make a fat profit on it, while banning the GoogleBot from the start. And then _you_ can be a guru, and tell us how you did it!

Did he upset Google... John Chow - Google Search

Being a lazy git - I Google'd his name to get to his site and it was no where to be found

They nailed him for his "review me with this anchor text and I'll link back to you" linkback scheme about 2 months ago. He was ranking #1 for his name and several other search terms then they gave him the proverbial 'hand job'. Now he's buried very deep in SERPS for his own name (somewhere around 200 the last I heard) and isn't in the top 1000 for anything else significant.

I only visit about once a week - less now that he's got a new design, personally I don't think the designer did a very good job... I thought to myself as soon as I saw it 'looks like John himself designed it'.

I'm not really impressed with his content either, it's not very helpful.

maybe most people are like me. I don't like this guy but I will see a while what his writing. even when I'm noob I don't read his ads anyway.

wow, this is the 4th, month old thread you bumped. You do realize new posts are on the top of page 1, right?

urgh...anyone that posts on how to do something and they "suggests" they sign up here, go there, back to here, over there, oh wait I forgot one of my affiliate links right here...makes for one annoying ass read and that's all it took to never go back after my first visit.

But hey what do I know I don't run a blog on how you can make uber cash like me and I know everyone would kill for my dollar a day secret.

Any chance you guys have heard the newest Shoe money webcast on webmasterradio? John Chow hosts it. Umm it wasnt that bad because he brought on like 2 of his friends, and the guy that redesigned his blog. But John Chow felt the need to bring in a sound effect of a cow, and used it like 3 or 4 times. Making fun of John Cow.... The awkward pause after the sound effects were .... priceless.

He posts about abunch of crap sometimes, I don't read all his posts but there is sometime good information on here that pick up. Can't say I've had a bad experience following little things he does, its not really a blog for affiliate marketers that much.

Yes, most of his crowd is noobies who will do anything he says.
