Hey Jon great post! Seems like you did a lot of soul searching a research and came up with some great stuff. I think when you implement the pieces you talked about you'll see things start to pull together. Just always remember, Actions speak louder then words and things don't happen overnight....
Angelo - I'm not sure you get what's going on here. Anyone can gather a 1000 newbies by just showing a big check (i.e. shoemoney and the n00bie crew), the challenge is finding and keeping the big earners, coders and securtiy guys. Which is what builds a strong forum. Not devaluing you just stating facts.

I mean face it dude this forum is not cool anymore because you're trying to control so much stuff now.
Do as you wish, but you're alienating some of the most valuable people who ever contributed here and I doubt they are going to contribute in the future.

I think the majority of members here on WF (me included) actually missed out on most of all the drama that went on the last week. Most of us were never there in IRC that faithful night, and most of us have missed out on what exactly happened.
Personally, I'm still in somewhat of a confused state with questions I would like to ask like;
- who got banned? (we've been told why, but not who - other than chrislingle, lerchmo and engaged - three of my favourite members). And I appreciate you unbanning some of them Jon, although I doubt they will ever return as active members)
- there are other people too (I'm talking senior members with 1k+ post) that I haven't seen post in a LONG time. Were they banned as well, or have they just been quiet lately? Jdog, havokb8 and micfire, where are you?
- what is this other forum you guys speak of? I never saw it mentioned by name anywhere.
But I don't expect straight answers to any of these. I don't expect Jon to disclose the list of all members who got banned. I guess I just want to know how many of the "oldtimers" are still here. Nice to see you're still here, SEO_Mike!

I was also someone who stopped posting here because of all the knuckleheads. I am back and I will start posting quality content again in support of WickedFire 2.0

wow, lots of changes and a new community structure too, sounds like Wickedfire is going to be the place to be
I love how it's so darn easy for some people to criticize Jon - STILL. Don't complain about decisions made by him as an admin until you have been there yourself and can appreciate how it's really impossible to do the right thing by everyone. Hindsight is 20/20. It's not an easy position to be in, and it's one where you learn lots and lots from mistakes in a very public setting.
I think it takes a big person to publicly admit to so many mistakes and then let people throw tomatoes at him if they choose to. Anyone who has been in that position has to respect that. I know I do. Jon could have just let this lay low until people slowly forgot about it. Instead he admitted his fault and proposed ways he was going to make it right.
If WF isn't what you are looking for, move on. As far as all the "friends" of Jon that have moved on - as I told him already, it's a good thing they didn't waste his time any longer than they did.
Jon, I respect you a lot for how you have handled this. To come out and say that you have been wrong takes a lot of guts and leaves you pretty vulnerable. I know WF will do (more) great things because you believe it in and will make it happen.

Everyone that was banned, the same thing can be said for them, well except for you. You were banned for the forum which I don't blame Jon for banning you on that alone and I personaly wouldn't have unbanned you.

If all the core people are suddenly gone, what's the point? I haven't been the most active member, but the main reason I came here was chrislingle. How can I find out about this "other" forum?
I'm sorry. I know I barely contribute to the forum but I'm sick of seeing people post "I came here 'cause of chris's post".
Seriously. WTF. I can't remember the last time I learned something for chris's posts and yes he started two great topics on arbi & ppc aff...BUT TONS of people contributed to those threads~but since he started the topics all of a sudden he is a godsend for WF?
People need to stop being fanboys and start being open to the other people that give advice on this forum.
just wanted to say good luck with the new and improved wickedfire! i'm fairly new and appreciate not being bashed when i post and i'll try to add intelligent discussion to the forum. i'd been making like a measly $2/day for a couple of months. a week ago my wife started helping me and we set a challenge to ourselves to be making $40/day in 40 days. Well in 4 short days, we're at about $25/day. This really isn't very much compared to my IT salaray but it's a start and has made her a believer in internet marketing.

Jon, I'm impressed with the maturity you showed with this post.
No matter what you do, for some it will never be enough. Do your best and be able to go to bed each night (or early in the morning) knowing you are doing what you can and things will work out.
I was among the many that missed the drama (for that I am thankful for!). I don't need to know the details, it will only distract me from poductive work. I do know I have gotten a lot from WF when I needed help or just needed some company when I was working a lot of hours. Maybe some favorites have moved on and they will be missed, but there are still a lot of great members here.
As far as I'm concerned, lately (this past week), the members have stepped up with some great posts, great information, and showed their maturity. As Jon battled being sick and re-grouped, the members who have been around and the newer members united. WF members as a team makes WF the place to be.
One of a thousand people will let adversity hold them back, one in a thousand use adversity and step it up and make things better.......you're one in a thousand, Jon.
I'm looking forward to the improvements planned here.

Its unfortunate things turned out the way they did, but like someone else mentioned, you just never can tell with these things, keeping a complete community of people satisfied is impossible.
How things went from sharing and busting each others balls to an all out war is beyond me, but it happened and im looking forward to the changes, its pretty obvious that giving a group of people complete freedom isnt the way to go, as much as I like having a place to come and say what I want, when I want.....
