Checking over all of the stats today, and it seems WF is doing pretty damn well! Aside for the fact that we managed to do over 30k posts in one month, and increase user activity by over 60%! We are also averaging 62 users online now at any given point during the day and at most hours at night. Overall, we did over 3.1 Million pageviews for October (good thing this is on a dedicated box!), the avg amount of time users stay on the site went up from 7 mins to over 18 minutes!

I'm also glad to report that our biggest competitor in the space, EarnersForum (the only reason they are considered a competitor is because we both launched within a week or two of eachother, and we target similar topics) is going to be surpassed by WickedFire by early December in post counts. We already kick their ass with active users and more members than guests online at any given point. We'd definitely be kicking their ass in post and thread counts by now, but they acquired another forum which added about 30k more posts and a 6k threads to their stats, so I'll play fair and just beat those numbers for now.

WickedFire is officially 4 1/2 months old now! Not too shabby eh? We just started doing some SEO work today, and will really beef up the process over the next few months with some very aggressive campaigns. I'm sure that with the upcomming addition of the resource area (which is 7 new channels strong), we'll start gaining the footing needed to rival larger forums in the space such as DP, SPF and WMW. Although they do have many years on us, this place is growing rapidly. At Ad:Tech I ran into so many people I had never known that knew about WickedFire and were big fans. So far, haven't heard a single bad thing yet, unless people just aren't telling me, which is all the same to me!

I'm sure ASW will also bring in a lot of new users, so it's pretty cool to see a forum I never thought would be doing so well so quickly exceed every expectation.

Hey Peter T Davis you homo, still think "places like WickedFire will never take off"? Hopefully you don't give out stock tips either!

So where're my WickedFire tees, hats, etc?

Would be awesome to have a hat with that logo image.

We are getting lots of good designs for the tees and long sleeve tees for ASW. If you're not going to be there, I'll send one to your house, free of charge. But only AFTER the conference.

And to think I just came for the party!

With that many people on line, I feel like I should get out of my pj's and put on some make up or something!

Jon, you worked hard, did your own thing, and it paid off! Congrats....you very much deserve it! Thank you from all of us who reap the benifits of being a WF member.

I'll take a few as well, Resident Spammer for me and John on the back.

I was a little paranoid when I saw the be right back sign, but now that you are back I am all good. Nice work on the SEO mod and stuff, good luck on all your campaign's, as long as this place doesn't turn into happysville and we still have chris bagging the fuck out of newb's I will love it.

Happyville and WickedFire don't match.. I just don't see that changing.

Earners Forum - Advertise

might be a good place to start :)

Haha! Buy a defunct forum to get ad rates up! Woot! Wise advice from the master of the forums himself.

But without letting me get excited and into Lee bashing mode, I have a whole list of minimum requirements that advertisers here will have to meet in order to be allowed to advertise on the network and even get listed in the directory. Not going to have any scammers or companies with shitty reps in my list or on my site!

Jon how was VB SEO to install? I noticed a little weirdness late last night for a bit. Was that VBSEO related or something else?

I'm about to purchase this for ultimatemetal.com and am curious if it is as easy as they say.

Yeah, the image paths got fucked up for a few minutes until Brandon figured it out, that was about it. Overall it went pretty smoothly, and you can see that it does a good job at formatting the dynamic urls into static keyword title ones instead. Also it has a pretty good Google/Yahoo sitemap tool so it should allow a shitload more pages to be indexed over the next few days.

I'll post some stats on it sometime soon.
