Dark Knight set the bar way too high for superhero movie..everything suck after DK

im a fanboy of comics and other stuff, Deadpool ftw. (was my avatar forever) even though everything about the movie was very incorrect, i really thought it was still good for what it was. just go to tvshackdotnet and stream it. its the copy with out some of the graphics, but everything else is really fair quaility.

I just watched it online (thanks Fat Tom) and it wasn't as great as I built it up in my head but I guess I've been looking forward to this movie for a long time. I was adamant about watching it in the theater but you guys gave it so many bad reviews that I figured I should save my money and watch it online. It probably would have been a lot better with the special effects but still it wasn't my favorite. Overall I think X-Men 2 was the best.

I didn't take the movie too seriously. I honestly thought it was pretty bad ass, I just like seeing the fighting scenes and such. I mean don't go in expecting a kick ass movie that has an amazing plot. I went in expecting a dumb/decent movie and was pretty surprised at how much it really entertained me.

One thing that pissed me off is that at the end of each of the Marvel movies (iron man, hulk, xmen3, etc) they showed something cool after the credits that leaves you guessing for the next installment. At the end of the credits in Wolverine, it was pretty stupid and nothing significant. Oh well, DC COMICS 4 LYFE!

I've seen both.
Wolverine >>> DB

If you're a fan of DB the anime, have a couple of drinks before watching the movie. This should fix the plotholes.

Origins, Wolverine is action packed. Should be OK for a fanboy.

Don't mean to hijack this thread...

But speaking of movies that don't appeal to fanboys, have you seen the new Dragon Ball trailer? Now that looks like one steaming pile of cow shit.

I am sure that Wolverine movie will be more true to the comic than DBZ movie.

(Hi, new here.)

Well, first thing about it is continuity: The Marvel movies -- all of them -- exist in their own continuity. For the non-X titles, that's somewhere between Earth 616 (normal Marvel Universe) and the Ultimate Marvel continuity. The writers have drawn from both continuities. Even some of the details that seem wrong are usually somewhere in a comic, even if it's a passing mention or allusion. (The movie continuity has established a relationship between Wolverine and Sabertooth, for example, that was alluded to but dropped from the main comic continuity. But it was mentioned.)

So, was the movie consistent with the movie universe continuity? I suppose. I really don't remember enough about the prior movies to say for certain.

The pacing was SLOW in parts. Well, a lot of parts. For example, too many shots of vehicles traveling through the Canadian (or wherever they shot) wilderness. A couple times I was gritting my teeth wishing they'd just get to the next plot point.

The plot was straightforward. The biggest problem was that the movie plot only served to put Wolverine into the circumstances he was in at the beginning of the X-movies. It's not a plot that allows for the hero to have a real victory since it ends with him losing his memories. Most American, and certainly all Super Hero, movies end with a more clear victory for the hero. That didn't help.

The visual effects and stunts were very mediocre for the budget this thing should have had. The close up of the claws in one scene was particularly badly lit. They could have done better. Fight choreography was ok, but nothing spectacular.

Acting was good from Jackman and whoever played Sabertooth (forget the name). Deadpool was portrayed pretty well at the beginning of the film. Most of the other characters were kind of bland. Not really bad acting for some, so much as they didn't have a lot to work with. Still, there were some laugh out loud moments during the film.

Overall, I'd give it a C. It was very average. They could have done better with the budget they had, especially in editing (for pacing) and special effects. You won't miss much if you wait for DVD.

Horrible movie biggest piece of garbage first 3 minutes sick rest of the movie sucks balls 2 big wicked thumbs down

Hmmm.... I thought the first 3 minutes blew compared to the rest of the movie.

WOLVERINE is not trying to win Oscars, so either you like these kind of movies... or you don't.

Personally, I liked it. Infinitely better than Observe and Report (<--- worst movie EVER). I have been making airplane noises when I eat since I saw that piece.

saw the leak, not bad for an x-men movie. didn't really need ryan reynolds cheesy ass in there. plus it had my favorite xmen Gambit whoopin some ass

Gambit had like 5 minutes of screen time! How the hell was that whooping ass? And his accent slipped almost every time he opened his mouth!
The fanboy in me is screaming in outrage at how they fucked up Deadpool so badly. Reynolds was a good cast for it, he's a good comedic actor... so why the fuck was the part scripted so poorly?

That said, I liked the movie for what it was, but only because I saw it in gold class where they kept the beers coming, and by the end of it, I'd forgotten most of the beginning.
It's a good piece of mindlesss entertainment, but it's nothing special.

Motto: They got the hair right, though, right? I mean, it's 8 feet tall and glowing with power and outrage, isn't it?
