@everyone else, Black Eyed Peas suffered from an idiot on the mixing board. They were (for the most part) on key, their lyrics/etc sounded just as they did in the actual songs... fergie might be slightly tone deaf but none of that wouldve been noticeable had the shit been EQ'd properly. The background music was WAY too low, they shouldve put some light filters on their voices to help cover up the lip smacking and whatnot and maybe thrown a noise gate on their voices vs the background music to help normalize everything.
@Slash, he was actually playing way too slow for the background music and you can hear a (i think pre-recorded) track take over about halfway through his initial playing. Listen to it again and listen closely. Could just be my ears playing tricks on me due to the video picking up sound at different locations or something, though.
Oh- also, Black Eyed Peas started out as Tribe Called Quest wannabes- Now they're Wyclef/Timbaland imitations with a blonde chick in the front- What this means is unfortunately they know how to adapt, copy and survive and I think we'll be hearing more from them in the future. It is indeed a bleak outlook.
