Would you help your parents commit suicide?

This is one of those questions you can't really answer until you're in the situation. I'd like to say yes I would. But part of me would have a hard time with it.

If someone is terminally ill I believe they have the right to die with dignity. But that doesnt mean it would be easy to make that decision in my own family.

Absolutely.

Having watched the agony of dementia, terminal cancer, and stroke, absolutely.

Scarecr0w you are an utter cunt and your replies are utterly cuntish, the best example from you being:

"By your logic we should just kill everyone with a terminal illness."

Nowhere in this thread does anybody's posts even remotely come close to the above statement.

If any member of my "pack" would ask me for it, I would go without a second of hesitation (even if that means breaking law). It's about loyalty, love and dedication.

No time for thinking about my own "healthy" ass...

We humans are soo fucking selfish...

In most of EU countries you can't even die like a human because some communists cocksuckers won't let you......

just to clarify...

I'm writing about situation where there is no hope at all! When someone is dying in pain and there is no hope for better.

Other situations might require different approach. Sometimes the only power there is comes from family and friends.

This is a stupid question to ask, if they want to kill themselves they can, why would they want help with it? its rather easy to do, overdose, jump of a big building, drown, there is lot of shit to do, asking is a pussified way to go, if you want to kill yourself, just do it, why are you being a bitch about it? Don't have to tell anyone.

If my case, if my parents asked me, it's your call, but don't ask me for help, I don't want to be involved in your death, because I believe in karma.

If they are going to suffer in their final moments, then yes I would, provided that my other parent was also okay to go along with it. No doubt would be one of the hardest things in the world, but I'd like to think that they've done enough for me, that I could be selfless and do something important for them.

Someone have no Character or Respect for himself lower than Alien will do this, the people who knows that they need to commit suicide for better life of dozens people associated will never commit this act because they have no Character.

This is not a stupid question. You are stupid for not realising that this is a question about pulling the plug on someone who cannot do it themselves. You just sounded like a 12 year old wanna be alpha male trying to sound big and tough.

I believe your view on karma is incorrect and that the positive karma would be to set your parent free from suffering.

Please stop sniffing glue before posting on WF:hollering:

It's a tough one, because really the title of the post should be "Would you murder your parents".

Giving them the overdose that kills them, etc, is murder. At least, in the eyes of the law.

I would hope that my parents wouldn't put me in a position where they were asking me to break a law that could ruin the rest of my life, to ease their suffering. Of course, if the law was changed, it'd be a different matter.

People should have the option, though, and it's crazy that we live in a society now that tries to keep people alive at all costs. If you're terminally ill, you should be able to answer a load of questions, and have a doctor "put you to sleep" as such.

We do it to animals when the suffering becomes unbearable, so why not ourselves?

I would support their right to make that decision, but I don't think I could be involved in the process personally. Emotionally, I would be pretty upset to lose them. However, ethically I feel that's their decision. I would not want them to suffer in life or death.

I think this is an important point. Therefore there is no right or wrong answer because some people could live comfortably with it and others would be haunted by it for the rest of their lives, possibly causing more suffering than what the parent is going through.
