WTF do i have to do to convert 4k daily uv to some money?!



how many of these sites have you flipped? if i could get a site going once a month and sell it for 10k i'd be pretty damn happy.
 
Everytime i sell one autoblog at flippa for 150$ i get queries for more and i make 3-5 extra sales everyitme i sell one thing at flippa and then i sell the better blogs to peoplewho contact me personally at a bigger cost.


and i havent sold anything at 10k yet so thats why im standing my ground on this one.
 
So, inevitably just about everybody but a retarded Indian guy is going to instantly leave your page when they see it's a contentless spammy ad overflown page written by a robot - the golden question is, how can you monetize search engine users and capture data before they become aware of this fact? Hmm.

I've said it over and over again my traffic is purely u.s and i get 9-10 clicks a day on adsense (affiliate ads is a different story...20-50 clikcs/hour waiting on sales)

I have a few more things under my sleeve before i give this one up i made this thread so that i can see if there were any different strategies for finacne blogs or not :p


and oh by the way im not making people come to the front page and letting them choose what to read...they come via SERPs..Yea thats right, rankings!

No, I'm not jealous of an autoblog you admitted made you less than 20 bucks a day, enough said on that.

But I was trying to be helpful - I'm talking about autoblogs in general, you need some organized strategy to counteract the insanely high bounce rate inherent with the site format (provided it's not a semi-autoblog). I used to do a fair amount of autoblogs myself and this was the main issue.

Can you think of a way to somehow acquire a customer lead before they bounce? If you can, you can easily add another zero to your current revenue stream from this one site, and probably re-do the formula for your other automated sites as well.
 
That's one thing I'm working on right now finance blogs have to be one of the hardest blogs to monetize so yea I AM working on a lil somthin somthin :p

Well, in my experience, the golden way to monetize this blog is going to be to create a popup email opt in form before they see the content of whatever page they're landing on. Wordpress.org has a LOT of plugins like this.

Create an incentive using PLR and/or unique content like "The 7 Strange Secrets the Forex/Stock/Whatever World Doesn't Want You To Know" and offer it as an incentive for opting in to your list.

Then you are going to capture targetted emails like mad (if you really want to be detailed make sure to log the search term they got there from so you can segment the list).

In your free report, basically write a shill sales letter with affiliate links included. Or, you can make the report a bit more truly valuable so you build up customer loyalty and then market them offers down the line.

This approach is going to give you something LASTING and something you can market to forever and ever. With the tons of visitors autoblogs bring in through longtail, even a 1% opt in to your list via the pop up form is going to build you a large base of users in no time. That guy searching for "irish finance orangutang eyeball lord money money 420" is now no longer going to be lost like tears in the rain!

Anyways, even though you denied my request for what autoblog plugin you were using (I've used about 10 autoblog solutions so I've probably tried it anyways - and for what it's worth my favorite out of everything has been BlogsenseWP + Ubot + some PHP and CURL knowledge), figured I'd share my autoblog experiences!

Good luck, just remember, the great thing about the pop up opt in is it captures them before they have a chance to realize it's an autoblog, so you'll potentially get some real high quality leads.

And if you don't do list management stuff, either Aweber or Mailchimp should both be good choices for the time being (the email forum will have more info about this).

i could how ever mashup a few things together rewrite the hell outta it and see where that goes tho

i was keeping this as my last resort.
 
That's the great thing, it doesn't really matter what the content of the report is, it doesn't have to be A+++, it can just be a mashup of existing articles or some public domain writeup or anything really, what's more important is the promise of it and the fact it will capture emails.

Anyways, the viewers will go to the pages of your site anyways even if you capture their email, so you won't lose anything by doing this, just gain their emails before they hit the page, which is something valuable.

What you could do is hire a writer for about 5-10 bucks to just drum up something quick - the report can be only a few pages.

What I'd do is make the report just like a salesletter that is subtly pitching a product, that way they think they're getting something of value but they're actually being secretly sold something that's only clear near the end of the report via a 'special exclusive link' or whatnot.

Hell, if you think about it, if you're into data brokerage, you could probably just sell the finance targeted lists you create with this for a LOT more than you could make in adsense in a month.

Email them a what is essentially a giant ass landing page? Or worse case forget the email and go straight to giant flash pop over. :D
 
Nice, popup looks sick and the page design is looking a lot better too.

This isn't WP Super Pop you're using is it? Which one did you settle on instead?

Also you might want to add a privacy policy like: "We will not share your email with anybody else and will not spam you", seems to be the norm for email opt ins for legal reasons. (a separate privacy policy page is actaully the norm but a short thing on the form itself is good at least)
 
Well i tried using wp super pop it didnt work at all and it had limits to how many times it would show..

so i went to aweber and fortunately they had a lightbox option that does the popup thing with out any plugin so im using that

by tomorrow ill know if this aweber thing is the way to go or not

I'm seeing the streaming video come thorugh and show on top of the opt in popup right now as it is in firefox. I know that will vary depending on the homepage, but as of now if there's a flash vid there, it overrides.

Im getting that too, the red dead youtube video is covering up the pop, besides that its looking a hell of a lot better than when this thread started.
