So let me get this straight... the main event of the 2008 World Series of Poker is going on from now until the next week and a half or so... but the final table isn't until November?

I'm sure this was some big marketing ploy, but come on- sometimes luck likes to come in waves. Four months later is an awfully long wave to bet on.
And for all the hyping they are doing the WSOP at least is the only big thing going on right now. In November they'll have to compete with the end of the World Series, NFL in full swing, the Ultimate Fighting Championship #83482382, et al. not to mention the players might be in the World Poker Tour.
This is a terrible idea.
