You know you're a fucking idiot when you have a gambling problem.

first world problems

Not at all. People gamble everywhere and in fact gambling is a major and serious issue for poor people. It's the rush of the dream 'I can walk out a rich man' that is so addicting. The idea of money without work.

I used to play poker and be rather addicted, but affiliate marketing satisfied that need.

Not sure. I'd almost say it's more of people in distress wanting their problems to instantly disappear, not get rich.

I used to gamble quite a bit, but never put myself in financial jeopardy due to it. Roulette and baccarat were my games. Some nights I was up quite a bit, but overall, definitely down.

When you're at the casino though, you always see people who shouldn't be there. Just from their reactions you can tell they just bet that month's mortgage payment or electric bill, or are thinking, "well, there goes my marriage; she's definitely leaving me after this". You see that type of distress quite often in casinos. Not good.

That's something I never could understand. Its almost as if they want to self-destruct. Throw everything away. For me it was gambling money I couldn't afford, but never to the point of not paying the bills. But I did find you can still be addicted to gambling and maintain a >750 credit score.
