Hey,
About to order a bunch of books about selling I get the suggestions from the various threads on WF on which books to get.
This one seems interesting but can't help but get the "interwebz guru" thing going on.
So did anyone read this shit? Any good or a waste of time /+ money?
Thanks,
AmunRa.

If you have an open mind, you can learn something from any book you read - despite its popularity or unpopularity. Just try to avoid information overload. Read books that are centered on exactly what you want to do.

For example - if you are planning to promote a service like copywriting which means you need to read books by copywriting masters like Gary Halbert, Gary Bencivenga, Eugene Schwartz, and John Carlton to name a few.

Thank you. :)
You actually contributed to the thread.
Yea I can sometimes be bad with information overload, I'll guess I'll pass on this book since no one seems to have read it.

Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely offers some interesting insight into what triggers a persons decision making on an emotional level. Not specific to AM but definitely applicable.
Also this site has a lot of interesting marketing research studies that can be downloaded for free.

Stop reading. Start failing. If you don't understand what I mean you might as well get a job at Starbucks.

I am failing... If what you mean is get off my ass and do shit then yea I am doing shit. I've got a shitty offer, a shitty landing page a shitty "report" some shitty follow up messages and shitty PPC campaigns etc.

But I'd like to read up on some shit so I can make everything less shitty, So I can actually make money instead of spending (I'm over the "no-cost" start-up fantasy.)

If I mistook you then you would have to explain what you meant.

No you got exactly what I was saying. However, you have to fail even more. If you didn't learn ANYTHING from your failed campaigns, then you probably didn't get enough data. How many campaigns have you ran? What traffic source? What vertical?

Those books are all good.

Try out Words That Work as well.

I actually got that book at the ASE, but somehow haven't managed to open it. Thx for reminding me. I also got Words That Work, and have read it... found it to be actually very good.
